As for what you really can see:
You probably missed this information, especially since it did not directly concern you. But DMs dressed my character in a girl's dress. Since he is a 16 year old boy with no visible signs of maturity, and with a rather cute face (click the spoiler in a linked post), all you see is a slightly taller than average girl. As this is your first meeting, it is unlikely that you will so quickly and accurately guess that this is, in fact, a young man. Oh, and he shapeshifted to a human form, so, you see a human girl with red hair, without any horns.

While waiting for a third for my party, I've been studying the quest boards.

20GP for a single rat, no matter its size, is a significant boost to our funds. We could easily get armor and weapons for three people with those funds.

However, I'm quite familiar with animals as well. Returning a baby to its parents certainly appeals to me considering my circumstances.

Between the two, I'd prefer the option that is immediately rewarding to myself. However, I'm suspicious of the absurd bounty on those rats. My knowledge says a Giant Rat shouldn't be any stronger than the average human commoner. If these ones are stronger for some reason, my current limits might not be enough to defeat them.
