I'm not picky on game genres but I hate games that shove irl politics in my face unless it's shitpost game. There's no reason to play it if I'm not a streamer/content creator playing it for views.
I prefer when the author's slowly reveal lore and worldbuilding either from idle thoughts or through conversation. Infodumps are acceptable when the MC is learning either from a book, a teacher, their parents, in a school setting, etc.
Take the best of both worlds happy open endings. Tie up loose ends but still reveal enough room for sequel bait. A good example is mushoku tensei with a great ending and a glimpse of a maybe sequel.
