Move the "tip" button up on novel's synopsis page to the rating and reading list section (Tablet).

:blob_aww: Ooooooh.. I never use the PC to read novels. Rather laze in bed with my tablet. Argh! My EYES! I'm blind! It burns!

Wait, is this a photo edit, or how it actually looks for you??

Move the "tip" button up on novel's synopsis page to the rating and reading list section (Tablet).

    The "tip" button is really small and hidden down towards the bottom. Compared to RoyalRoad, where you have to scroll past it to see get to the chapters;

Standard gallery/stock photos for new novels without a cover.

I've only got one thing to say to that; beggars can't be choosers. :blobtaco:

Below the chapter index and the author profile picture. Really hard to spot - and 90% viewers don't scroll that far down.

Reader and author gamification - earn badges and points by commenting, reviewing, and writing.

Absolutely. I also hope that similar badges could be given for e.g., posting reviews, comments, giving kudos, etc. Authors could then earn by writing words, gaining readers, and so on. These badges should then be "appendable" to ones profile picture, so you could show off.

Move the "tip" button up on novel's synopsis page to the rating and reading list section (Tablet).

Yea, you could potentially move the author name up the as well, under the novel's title and stats. And under the author name (or next to?), have the donate/tip button. I'm not a ux designer - I'm a programmer. As long as it works I'm happy. F*** whether it's pretty or not :blob_joy:

But... isn't badges a form for gamification? Not to nit-pick or anything :blob_hide:

Standard gallery/stock photos for new novels without a cover.

Of course the magical Tony. /jk. Maybe the power of love could drive the community to support? Maybe some fantastic artist would want to showcase their art? :blobrofl: I don't know, as theres no fancy or easy solution to conjure up nice looking, royalty-free, and public domain artwork.

Standard gallery/stock photos for new novels without a cover.

One could commission an artist to make 5-10 standard stock images (1-3 for each genre). As far as branding goes, I'd suggest using a logo, that is pre-placed on the image. The author could then choose to fill out a text box for novel title and author name. For diversity, different fonts could...

Standard gallery/stock photos for new novels without a cover.

Enable authors to select a cover image for their new novel by selecting from a gallery of stock images. If this function could also include basic text editing, so that they could write their title on the image, then it would be superb. This feature would greatly improve the "look and feel" of...

Tag voting for novels and ability to suggest tags to authors

Hey, why not steal a feature from Webnovel? Give readers the ability to "heart" (like) tags for novels on their synopsis page, and potentially suggest authors tags, which the author might have missed. This would enable authors to see what genres and themes are a hit with their readers, and...

Reader and author gamification - earn badges and points by commenting, reviewing, and writing.

It could be fun, some time in the future to earn levels and badges for the profile page and to give (non-monetary) gifts to authors to recognize their hard work. Currently, there is a neat "Member," "Author," "Rising Author," etc. system below users profile picture on their profile page - I...

Move the "tip" button up on novel's synopsis page to the rating and reading list section (Tablet).

In general, the donate button is pretty much hidden when compared to other sites, like RoyalRoad. Moving the donate button to the top of the novel's synopsis/chapter index page (next to the ratings and reading list button), instead of it being hidden below the chapter index and author profile...

Saved filters on Ranking Lists, even if you navigate between the lists

Currently, the applied filters are only saved if you navigate between pages, but if you switch to another ranking list, the filters are forgotten. It would be great if you could save your filters permanently.

How far will you read before a story "hooks" you?

Yea, that pretty much was what I was trying to explain, but in much more eloquent and easier-to-understand way. Synopsis and tags is the hook. The next 10+ chapters is the part where the author must reel it in.

How far will you read before a story "hooks" you?

Depends. I think I go through stages. Stage 1; Is the synopsis good and does it have the right tags? Any tags with Gender Bender or BL is typically an instant reject (because I'm shallow like that), and I go mainly for Male Lead. If it crosses my threshold of; "well, this could be interesting,"...

How to get your first Patron?

Yea; my experiences, as a reader, the things I would expect of an author would be; 1. Make good use of the author note section in each chapter to highlight your new Patreon. 2. Have a good steady release cycle!! 3. Have a reasonable tiered system that all gives access to early-release chapters...

A Day In the Life of Trending-Tab-chan

On another note; seriously, what is up with all these Gender Bender novels in the trending list?? I don't get it. I've gotten to the point where my auto-reflex is; "I see GB. I rate 1 star." PS: Brilliant post OP. :)
