    Heist stories

So, like, the Dragon’s hoard is considered a suicide run, nobody even tries it. But this group, this group can pull off something! Twitchsnag the thief, known for artistry with tumblers, the mighty dwarf known only as “Ax”, the muscle of the group, the bard Celeste, working the kobolds from the...

What are some realistic powers that can possibly exist in our world?

It’s been said, but fighting prowess is that ”how did that happen?“ kind of thing. There’s a video out there, giving normal people a katana and asking them to slice through bamboo. Some manage to chop through a stalk, maybe two. Then the kendo master comes on and cleanly cuts through five...

Casting spells with/ without materials, which is more orthodox?

I agree, requiring materials is more otrthodox. It’s traditional in the West, from eye of newt to runestones. Even in Eastern fiction, they‘re scarfing up thousand year ginseng and various herbs. But just because it’s tradition, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it. I think of gunmages, who...

Who else writes better 20+ hours after waking up? I want a show of hands.

I write better after 20+ hours of being asleep.

    What are authors?

I liked Sir Terry Pratchett‘s take. Inspiration particles bombard their brains. https://wiki.lspace.org/Inspiration_Particles

Toilet thoughts: Redemption arc plot thread I'm trying to work out.

So, ostracized by an uncaring world, they are forced into doing whatever they can to survive. Every bit as talented as so-called heroes, they stand toe to toe with them, fighting for money, fame and higher insurance deductibles. Greed and Pride, then? Envy? Just because you didn’t give them a...

Toilet thoughts: Redemption arc plot thread I'm trying to work out.

Every villain is the hero of their own story. Either shift in opinion so they‘re more acceptable, welding dogs to criminals not only deters crime, but lowers pet overpopulation, sort of thing. Most plots do “bigger bad showed up, let’s fight it together!” stuff. But you want something...

Your thoughts of litrpg abilities & skills

Yup, sounds like Abilities, then. Skills from the System were the old way, or so it sounds. No skills from the world, but still can gain the ability to use skills yourself, which is interesting. Could play with that, people stuck in the past kind of thing? Anyway, new world orders need new...

Your thoughts of litrpg abilities & skills

Skills is the traditional term. Abilities means more like employing a skill. So, unless you’re looking to differentiate your system, I’d go with Skills. If you’re worried you have got too many, use less. Simplify, man!

Forgotten Title Which anime has the stupid girl and the "underwear salesman"?

I honestly have no idea, but googling keeps bringing up Kamen no Maid Guy, which is hilarious, so thank you for that.

    Real names.

Ugh. I was named after someone unrelated to my family because, well, too many brothers and sisters. Mom was out of ideas. So yeah, I loathe my name.

Simple question, help a Kitty out.

Lots of people post rewrites, this isn’t much different. Smaller chunks for an ADHD world, why not?

Ask me about fantasy lore history.

They took oodles from Lovecraft when they made D&D. As a guess, I’d say the Beholder god is something you do not want to name. Ever. I’m kinda curious about this one, today. Also from D&D, mostly. The Xvart. Started in D&D, they wanted something with a lower challenge than goblins, so they took...

    Looking for a book

There’s a web novel on a bunch of sites with that plot starring one Elric Johnson, later called Kahn, titled Hero of Darkness, by CrimsonWolfAuthor? But I can’t find that here on Scribblehub, nor anything for Erlic Johnson, so, sorry, I can’t help.

    Cortisol

Yes, I do, but I really think it should be explained in that work you’re editing. Not in depth, but just like, “medicine“ or “hormone”.

    Do I count

Lots of authors get less than 100 views per chapter. My own views take up a good 50% of my page views. But then, I royally suck. I think it’s best to put it, “a successful story will have negligible author views”, but then again, I suck at words.

    Telekinesis, Technokinesis, or Pyrokinesis?

In a survival setting? Pyrokinesis. In a pre-industrial age? Telekinesis. In a post-industrial age? Technokinesis. Of course, the choice implies to me that telekinesis is limited, as it could mimic both of the other two if unfettered.

Writing Prompt You wake to find you have the ability to move light, what do you do.

I put the mirror and prism away and get back to cramming for that monstrous Physics final. Lousy all-nighters have me borderline delusional.

    Brick is evolving

The defining characteristic of bricks, what it is that makes a brick a brick is its uniformity. The ideal bricks aspire to is to be indistinguishable from other bricks. True, unflawed bricks make strong structures. Flawed, cracked, impure bricks make structures fall down. So how would a brick...

Writing Prompt You gain psychic powers invisibility, super strength, telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, and x-ray vision. What do you do? Why? How is your life?

Hmm.. Psychic power, can’t be seen, can see everything, know everything, and unlimited power to redecorate? Sounds like a god? Or godling, anyway. Probably set up in some city, start redecorating. I’d know who was wicked, either move then outside the city or a few hundred feet straight up? It’d...
