    Abusing (and) / (comma)

There's nothing wrong with commas when used correctly. As for and, it can be used to great effect when done correctly. I suspect that you are just being self-conscious because you read someone else's work that seemed wrong either due to misuse of "and" or misuse of commas.

    Mary Sue, objective cardinal signs.

Wish-fulfillment self-insert is what you usually think of with a Mary Sue/Gray Stu for sure.

Popup asking for Feedback on low star ratings

People will give your story one star just because they don't like things you have written on the forum. I have one person that seems to makes new accounts to give me a bad rating every week, it's kind of sad.

    Mary Sue, objective cardinal signs.

A friend of mine once said, "Here's how to spot a Gary Stu: You're reading a book by Terry Goodkind."

How many buffer chapters do you keep?

I don't come up with anything until I start writing my new story.

Writing Prompt The most ridiculous corporation to exist..

Twelve men and two women in very expensive suits took their seats at the long table. At the head of the table, an older woman sat down and slowly opened a manilla folder and flipped through some documents before saying, "In nineteen eighty-five one man had a dream, a dream to be the very best...

    Help with synopsis?

When I write a synopsis I think what can I say that won't contain a spoiler yet still express what the story will be about in an interesting way.

    10 Worst Romance Tropes

Why would that matter? If I had sat and watched her entire catalog of videos if I had read all of her books if I had built a shrine to her existence, how would that have anything at all to do with my point? You say that you feel I am easily offended by a lot of things based on what, exactly...

    10 Worst Romance Tropes

I dislike videos like these on the whole due to the dishonest nature of presenting an opinion in a way that makes it seem like common sense or fact. I understand that you felt the video was speaking some opinions that you agree with, and you were eager to share them. I am also not saying that...

    10 Worst Romance Tropes

I see a lot of these opinion videos posted online these days where you get someone like the lady in this video you posted giving their opinion as if it is some kind of well-known fact or common sense message everyone should know. In the end, it's just her personal opinion.

Writing Prompt You get Isekai’ed into your own novel. Now what?

I can't believe my luck, how could a 90s Isuzu delivery truck end up crashing into a cubicle on the second floor of a government office building? Then to be transmigrated into the body of a middle-aged minister for the court of the Kingdom of Pays Des Abrutis of all things. I wouldn't have...

Should the narrator call them by their nickname right away?

Once you introduce the nickname to your readers it's normal to use it. If your character is introduced as the mysterious girl, and you suddenly call her Weezy, people will be confused I imagine.

Writing Prompt Do you know who I am? You're courting death!

"Do you know who I am? You're courting death!" The man drunkenly slurred. He opened the car door and stood up smoothing out his robes. He started to make hand seals rapidly. Officer Kent was a twenty year vet with the highway patrol, but this was the first time he had ever encountered such a...

    Outlining Problem

My advice is to keep it simple. It sounds like you are making your outlines too complex. My outlines are usually not much more than writing prompts. When you outline in too small of a detail, you might end up over explaining some things that would have a better flow if you came up with them...

    Writing Prompt Murder Game

Greg Lamb was tired of his job at the amusement park. Pulling the lever and pressing the buttons on the "Scream" wheel while looking at the pretty girls who laughed and called him names like "Joe Dirt" and "Hillbilly" when they thought he couldn't hear them. He grumbled and waited for the bell...

    Implemented Fairer sorting of lists

If you go back and read my posts here in this "CF thread" you won't find me in opposition to the idea of changing the trending system. I am in no way emotional about that. What my problem is and what I have had to repeatedly defend was the idea that I am manipulating scores, or somehow "gaming...

Feeling intimidated by the bombastic language people use in their stories.

Write with the voice that lets you convey your story the way you want it to be read. You don't have to write at the college level to impress anyone.
