Your Worst Writing Moments (A Non-Depressing Thread)

Oh, my goddess, I remember when I had no idea how to write smut scenes and decided to experiment my skills on a side virgin couple first before getting real with my main couple. My hard work resulted in this shameful post: Me, asking people what pēnis synonyms they like the most. ? Yep, I'm...

Your Worst Writing Moments (A Non-Depressing Thread)

I think I was in 7th grade when the language teacher gave us an assignment, "Caricature in descriptive writing." I hated this particular teacher as much as I hated literature classes and essays. So yeah, while my classmates described their family members, I went all out and wrote a whole essay...

    Got my first 1 star

There is a reason why there are no comments, reviews, etc.. One stars voters are afraid to reveal their identity, afraid of others bashing/banning them. :s_wink:

Writing The things I learned as an Author

Also being an author helped me to grow as a person. The amount of research and all that stuff we invest in our work can make us a little bit smarter and knowledgeable. ?

    He said that his sister’s cousin’s dog’s owner’s cousin’s brother said:

Going through his pockets, he panicked, "Someone, hurry, lend me a pen!" Wanting to be helpful, she offered him her pen with a smile, saying, "Here." (I think you could skip the world saying. Just wanted to show another example of how you can replace "she said" with "saying".) The main point...

If somehow I go to past and kill my grandfather before my father was born then I did I kill my grandfather?

Of course you did, the moment you kill your grandfather, you'll slowly die with him, slowly disappearing into nothingness. Because at the same time, you killed the possibility to be born. That's if you're blood related. ? Who knows maybe your father was adopted. Yup, the future will change, but...

    *jazzhands* depression

I just assume that the humans in that world are different compared to Eartheners. Everything could be explained with magic, so I wouldn't put Earth's law into their physic form, that would be stupid of me as a reader. Just like everything else, humans can evolve too. *Shrugs shoulders*

Which word processer is best for writing?

I write on my phone, tried many apps but I always come back to the Wattpad app + Grammarly keyboard + Gboard keyboard for translating.?‍♀️ It's simple, it autosaves, it has synonym suggestions, it gives fast acces to basic Bolds, Initials, emoticons, gifs, pictures and videos, what more can I...

Do you base your characters on people you know? If so, how many of them know?

Initially, I'd put some personality traits from a person I know into my character as inspiration to make them feel real, but usually, (always) my characters develop into a completely different human beings. So I could say, they are not a carbon copy of real-life people. Far from them.

What if I gave an unfamiliar name to my character without explaining the meaning

If I read it as FiFi, it actually sounds cute.

    Writing numbers.

    - What looks better on paper (1 000 000 One Million. 1 000 000 000 One Billion. 5 years Five years. 1 Hour One hour. 24 Twenty-four years old) - If the number is important/long/complicated/lots of numbers, I tend to write them down. ( 215 454 gold coins 665 silver coins and 25 coppers. 5 hours...

Will vibrations be felt in a tunnel from a mech battle above ground?

Yup, it transfer through the surface of the ground. Just saying because lots of metros go deep under the ground in case of a nuclear bomb.

Will vibrations be felt in a tunnel from a mech battle above ground?

Maybe at the entrance of a train station. Rattle of the house happens because it's above ground. But I wouldn't compare the movement of a train to a mecha... The stress a train put on the rails, speed, weight, etc is completely different. When a mecha hits the ground it creates a creater around...

Will vibrations be felt in a tunnel from a mech battle above ground?

The concrete is enforced with steel, above it is a thick layer of dirt and soil to reduce the sound and vibrations. I'd assume there is a loud trafic above the ground (cars, people, etc.) As long as they don't pierce through the tunel, people below should be clueless about things happening above...

I'm curious about how to write a good (quality) female protagonist?

I don't need a relatable mc, for me, she needs to have a goal, a purpose.

Writing Prompt Your character stumbles upon a local delicacy.

Reminds me of a scene from my novel: *Warning* A spoiler from a novel QT: Against My Will - Chapter 3.13 "Grandson, see what I found," Bing Shi called out. When Ren Han went inside, she opened her palm before him, "A durian lollipop, do you want it?" Ren Ran accepted it with a twitch, "How...
