My issue or my opinion about BL and gender bender novel

Well, queer is actually reclaimed and used academically too, even. In places like Australia (where I'm from), it's in common use.... Same as the UK. I feel like the US is the only place with hangups?

My issue or my opinion about BL and gender bender novel

Genderfluid is if your gender changes/fluctuates over time (i.e. some days you wake up feeling more feminine and some days you wake up feeling more masculine and there may be no apparent cause). Someone who is bigender can also be genderfluid. And someone who both a man and nonbinary would...

Writing Is it okay to make a Xianxia-styled novel with all main characters name English ?

I was thinking lately about writing a xianxia-esque novel with Chinese characters and characters in the east and south east Asian region...It feels like, if you write a pure xianxia novel, then having English names (or non Chinese names in general) for your characters will break the immersion of...

How many of you actually modify the main site view through Release Filters?

I don't use the front page, because the stories there don't have their summaries which to me are super important. That said, I do filter out some things with the Release Filter so that if I do land on the front page, I won't see them

Just Curious: What is easier to write - fanfiction, translation, or original?

For me, (short) fanfics! Especially for the big fandoms and pairings on AO3, there's so much community and engagement even for cute fluffy or cracky oneshots.

How the heck do you get people to discover already-finished stories?

Or how about posting to different websites instead?

How the heck do you get people to discover already-finished stories?

Often I search for Completed Stories only (to binge read/not have to wait for updates), but writing more stories is definitely the best way to get more readers. On tapas, if your story is complete and gets put into the "Binge" section, you can also get more readers after completion. From what I...

What do you think of BL Harem?

Since I don't like tropey love triangles, I tend to prefer poly lovers instead, I remember reading a good (english original) M/M/M/M/M (five guys) story, there were sub pairings inside the poly that were a little closer to each other but also they all loved each, and well, I don't know if that...

Girls Love tags used in novels with male romance

To me, a Girls Love genre means that the end game main pairing is GL! But I agree that more tags are needed, and it would be nice if authors flagged such things

    Recommendations Unconventional BL

I agree that matcha & milk is actually conventional, follows M/M fanfic tropes a lot, when I was writing it, I was thinking about food, not story lol. Hahaha, I LOVE AO3 tagging and search system, no other site comes *close* to how good it is. This is all the original M/M on AO3 with trans male...

    Recommendations Unconventional BL

:sweating_profusely: it's more like all the unconventional BL that I've actually read are found on tapas or AO3 (and let me tell you that AO3 has a *lot* of original M/M smut with trans male characters, including where the transguy tops ?)

    Recommendations Unconventional BL

awww, thanks for the kind words, @Moonpearl and @Queenfisher !!! :blob_aww: Unfortunately, I haven't read that much BL on Scribblehub yet to confidently give the recommendations you're asking for, so I'll keep an eye on this thread ?

Separated BG (Boy/Girl aka M/F) romance genre or tag

I think there was another request about a tag dictionary or some alternate categorisation for the tags to make them more manageable. (My ideal would be the AO3 tagging system, all of those possibilities you suggested would be used, and would be, behind the scenes, wrangled to be synonyms of...

Separated BG (Boy/Girl aka M/F) romance genre or tag

Sorry if I misinterpreted you. I still believe that a LGBTQ+ tag would be useful if we did not have more specific tags such as Asexual Character, Nonbinary Character etc (since not all trans people are nonbinary! I know that there is a Genderless Character tag, but not all nonbinary people are...

Separated BG (Boy/Girl aka M/F) romance genre or tag

I'm shocked...at how wrong this statement is. What about GL? What about pairings involving nonbinary characters? A Boy/Girl pairing with a trans character can also count as LGBTQ+ I also literally do not understand why you need to bring in the "utopia" argument, since adding a tag/genre is...

Separated BG (Boy/Girl aka M/F) romance genre or tag

I don't think het romance should be default, it should be put in the same footing as BL and GL. Also, what if I wanted to exclude BG romance, as others previously mentioned?

Separated BG (Boy/Girl aka M/F) romance genre or tag

Given that Boys Love and Girls Love are their own separate genres, it would make sense to have BG (Boy/Girl) Love as a separate genre, or at least tag, so that readers can include or filter out as necessary. [It would also be neat to have a "no romance" tag too] edit: alternate names include...
