Thanks. I guess since I'm a prose writer it's kind of a scene.

Fantasy Blues Blues harmonica on a hot summer’s day. The rustle of corn stocks in the cool breeze. A dusty dirt road and the black clouds of an approaching lightning storm. A flash from that dark wall, as thunder rumbles over the sky and a fresh wind blows cold— the sweetest kiss of...

Can I use the N Word for mah story

Hey dickhead. When you assume white people can't use the N-word but other people of non-white origin can, you're in fact being racist. Go watch that Tarantino film, The Hateful Eight and then ask your question again. If you want to get into the WOKE bullshit, then I'll tell you this: they don't...

    Leveraging Real Life into Stories

Everything you write is exactly what you already described. So yes, you're definitely overthinking. Just reach out, and shoot for it, man.

    I write crack now

Your story idea sounds great. Writing with a fairy tale voice.

Should I write long chapters or short chapters?

To each their own. It can be nice if well written. You would be surprised, older stories like what you find in the Arabian Nights and the Heike don't spend a lot of time on narration. Personally, I crave this older story form.

Open ai, and using it to write fighting scenes.

I'm still amazed and excited and blown away that some people mention Conan (as written by Robert E. Howard) in reference to my own work. I feel it's a great honor to be compared to his style.

Open ai, and using it to write fighting scenes.

Wrong. You, even with your perceived lack of skill (I'm assuming that's why you want assistance) are far superior. And let me tell you why. Author voice. Your author voice is what makes your story truly yours. Not only that, it's what makes your story an art form. Art without the author's...

Open ai, and using it to write fighting scenes.

I don't want to be rude, but if you don't have the skill to pull off the artistic medium you want to get into, you should probably practice, rather than turning it into machine generated dross. For one, your art will be stale packaged AI creation, and on top of that, you'll never learn to get...

Should I write long chapters or short chapters?

My experience is on Royal Road for this. I've uploaded extremely short chapters consistently, and I've uploaded beefier 2-3-4k chapters consistently and I haven't notice any difference at all. None.

    Perfectionism is a curse.

We all speak differently, which means we write differently. So even the perfect sentence will be looked at (by a person looking for issues) as being imperfect. And this applies to story taste as well. So you're fighting an imaginary battle that doesn't even exist. Once you understand that the...

    Just a quick question

It's only fanfiction unless you use the IP itself, meaning proper nouns and trademarked concepts and such. Otherwise you might just call it a story "inspired by" but no, it won't be fanfiction.

    Need help with my synopsis

That's a blurb, not a synopsis. A synopsis is a summary of the entire story and doesn't leave out spoilers. They're designed to give a publisher or agent an accurate thumbnail of your story, not to draw them in the way a blurb does.

What are the most fun and relaxing ways to improve as an Author?

Read fun stuff. Have fun while you write. If you turn writing into an exercise of "making it good" it will not only most certainly be worse, but you won't be enjoying yourself. Writing stories is intensely psychological. Stories that I've treated like a joke have been my best. They were fun to...

Feeling discouraged for writing for 2 months now

You're writing from a place of critical thought, not creative thought. That's why you're having these problems. You're elevating your writing to too high a place of percieved worth, or perhaps comparison with others.

How do you deal with ridicule?

If it's a reader, I usually ignore it. If it's another writer acting like an arrogant douche, I let them have it.

Because the the draw to sex is something we all experience. I would hope the draw for violent action is not something we all experience. I know we live in crazy times, but the chances one of us on this forum goes nits and murders a bunch of people is incredibly small. Now, the draw for sexual...

How does one write a 1k chapter book?

Your question is confusing. Are you asking about writing a book that has chapters of a thousand words, and how to prolong the length of said book to say, a hundred thousand words or so? This is about plot, not length of chapter. Length of chapter is completely arbitrary and doesn't signify the...

    smut can be better

It depends. I also don't call it "smut" unless it's just a sex scene. I write stories, good stories, with erotic, sometimes graphic, scenes.
