Sort of my initial thought, like if someone self-inserted into Batman, then someone made a fanfic of that self-insert. The backdrop would be there, but I feel like all the nuance for any situation would be totally dependant on some cult-classic level knowledge of whats going on.

Sitting here and trying to wrap my head around what a crossover fanfic would be like, if it was crossed over with another fanfic... I just feel like it would be an abomination of confusion...

You don't need a god to be ALL powerful. They can have rules, restrictions, senior gods, personality traits that cause them to be dangerous not only to themselves, but their followers. I like reading stories with gods that are, in a sense, a mortal but powerful. Flawed, maybe even tragic...

Hmmm... I did watch some of the video, got to about half of it. And, while I agree a singular and overarching 'big bad' can be interesting, I've never found it necessary. Much like Expentio, most of my stories don't have a primary antagonist. It's situations, interactions between characters...

Honestly, anyone could make it happen. Just slap a GL tag on it and bam! I'd bet chapter 1 has more ratings and reviews than everything put together... Tsk, tsk, tsk... temptations...

The troll in me speaks to do dark things... I shant do it myself, I've reformed. However, the sheer devastation it would cause to make a fanfic within the same universe, post it, and be more successful... It would cause irreparable emotional damage...

I'm at least reasonably sure 1/3 of my good stars are from shy raters :blob_teary: All my pretties would disappear if that happened

It's just part of the process. Best advice I can give is to imagine what a conversation with your extroverted best friend would sound like. Throw in an insult, toss in a jab, convince people that their alive and truly living. Anyway, best of luck and I hope this was helpful!

Oooooh, I like stories with this narration perspective. That said, reading the first chapter, I think the biggest thing that I struggled with was the dialogue. It's extremely formal, full of exclamation marks, and (please don't take it personally), somewhat wooden. As for improvements? Avoid...

Make sure there's lots of back and forth banter between the two, lots of silly interactions, and don't let her superior self be the 'lord almighty god' about everything. If she's gotta be super powerful, she's gotta majorly flawed. IMO

I toss it out the day it's written, let the snapping piranhas (readers) have what they want! People generally help me if I have a spelling mistake or two and point it out. Honestly, idk how I ever passed high school English... I'm sure my teachers 'loved' me. My outlines for a 100k word story...

Just my own outlook on things, but when I write, I don't focus on grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. I just try to get the story itself onto the page before all else. I've tired to do the whole 'edit as you go' but I always end up sitting there and adjusting things forever and ever. Flow...
