Venturing out into Scottish late autumn at 6 AM, all because I can’t sleep and have the weirdest craving for custard doughnuts — the ones that are basically Berliners, but with custard and not jam. And no, unfortunately this isn’t a sublimated Freudian thing; if it were, I’d be talking about...

    Username and Avatar

Username is something of a convoluted reference — but broadly, it’s not not my drag name. ;V My avatar is the narrator of the serial novel I’m writing, as drawn by a friend — I’ll have to ask if I can link their portfolio or something, and edit the link in later.

    King Arthur?

There’s that Green Knight movie that came out recently — the original legend it’s based on, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, is part of the broader Arthurian mythos — but I hear they only had Gawain kissing the titular Green Knight once, so I didn’t bother with it.

What do you think makes a horror game WORK?

I think you're right on the money with disempowerment being a crucial part of the horror genre, at least in gaming — I'm thinking here of Darkest Dungeon (the first one, hah — sequel was just announced the other day), which works quite well as horror despite the flippant tone, because the...

    Free First Chapter Feedback

Eh, why not? The zeroth/first chapter is technically split into 3 parts, but for your purposes, you can likely treat the very first installment as the first chapter. https://www.scribblehub.com/read/377889-the-bitter-drop/chapter/377894/

    Why are you writing?

Honestly? I can't imagine not writing. I write because I like to tell stories, and because I enjoy a) coming up with stories b) the actual work of developing stories and writing prose and editing and whatever c) when people read things I wrote and have opinons on it. I don't particularly know...
