For me I like a strong overarching story englobing the smut. Basically like what I wrote. Breaking the mold and having out of the ordinary scenes in both the story and the smut is also important, otherwise I'd get bored and feel I've already read 100 slightly different variations of the same...

You can advertise using clever bait and trolling, such as... Writing "blob neutral" on every chapter you come across. I like the banner option tho.

A bit of wisdom from me: One "story idea" isn't enough for one story. To have characters feel at least a bit alive, they all need a bit of story to them, even if they die 10 chapters down the line. Also most of the time you can combine story ideas to make things more interesting unless you're...
