Your favorite couple in fictional media.

Yuri Hyuga and Alice Elliot in Shadow Hearts. Everything with them is written so well that the moment they truly reunite in Shadow Hearts: Covenant lead to one of my favorite scenes in the entire story.

    Aim while writing

Both. Here is the First Law of Writing for Strangers Now, I go with my version of the 3 Drafts Approach, but that's neither here nor there. For web fiction, if you seek attention, then just focus on catering to pre-existing genres that are popular in these spaces. If you're more artistically...

    Ask Questions Away

As a whole, no, you don't want to introduce characters in "side chapters." The character should be introduced through the protagonist meeting them and only get POVs during one of the 3 types I mention in a video I already made on this topic.

    Ask Questions Away

First, saying this. With that said, In the past, I'm willing to just answer anything as best I can, with detailed, practical advice, if I haven't already answered it. All I ask is to give me precise questions because the more vague or open it is, the more difficult it is for me to cover it...

Is it just me or are action scenes a cheat code?

Typically cinematic. I teach using wrestling breakdowns for more drawn-out stuff like that. Anyway, to answer the OP question, that's just what you enjoy making, nothing more or less. Whether the fight scene is good or not is a whole other thing (don't assume you're good at it just because...

Here, I made this video to teach people how to create titles.

    Chapter Opening Techniques

This month, I've covered the opening sentence for an entire book. I've covered the when, where, and whys of where to open a book. And now I'm going over ways to open chapters and techniques. I give seven techniques here for when to use, when not to, etc.

    The Art of Openings

Can get more by going to the video I linked at the end. :s_wink: I dive much deeper into B.C.I. in those videos, after all.

    The Art of Openings

After doing all the stuff I did last week where I went into the art and craft of opening lines, I felt I'd keep that momentum going this week with how to actually choose an opening scene. This is stuff I used to look for when I did the opening chapter stuff since I found those who could pull...

How do I make an interesting story?

I realized, I should provide this as well to address this question. It'll now be my go to for this topic.
  12. Story_Marc

How do I make an interesting story?

Yeah, people who are vague or give incompetent, generic ass advice are the worst. If only there was someone who gave incredibly specific and detailed advice on topics, including explanations for why and examples around... Anyway, I looked at your first chapter. I could dissect a lot, but I'm...

How much should I plan ahead for a novel?

Plan the first arc, maybe the last one, and you can pants the rest in between. Webnovels require pumping stuff out fast and delivering genre goods more than worrying about quality or artistry.
  14. Story_Marc

How much should I plan ahead for a novel?

It's a really individualistic question, but to answer first, are you concerned with making pretty much webnovels or traditional literature?

How to Nail and Hook with Opening Lines

I didn't say anything that simplistic because I don't find those riveting at all. Others are free to go with those if they want, but I'm not going to encourage it if I don't feel it's effective.

How to Nail and Hook with Opening Lines

This one is a bit of a doozy, but I went hardcore on this one since I wanted to be thorough. With this video, I provide you all with some five simple craft principle, over 40 techniques, and a tons of examples for you to reference and learn from. So, if you're someone who cares a great deal...

    Writing The smartest writer around

Wow, this is a terrible lesson... Like, I actually DO understand what is said and it pisses me off because of how stupid it is. It's so dumb and over the top I'm just assuming this is trolling. :ROFLMAO:

Would you like to feature in my next video?

This actually already made it into the script. Though the context of which it did will surprise a lot. To note, I've finished scripting now.

Would you like to feature in my next video?

While there is stuff I could say about it, it isn't on the docket for this year. I don't consider it a high priority for writers as a whole. I might do such things in the future or maybe as one of my short articles, but it will depend big time on my whims.
