What the most iconic duo for you?

Max and 99. James West and Artemus Gordon. Kato and Green Hornet (yes, even Seth Green's version ... ick) Tonto and The Lone Ranger. Batman and Robin. Or Robin. Or Robin. Or Robin. Or THAT Robin, yeah, that one.

What writing exercises do you guys practice?

Occasionally I do some research, especially if dealing with historical stuff, but mostly I just write, and read. The only exception is if I am trying to mimic an existing style (like reading some pulp/noir novels to get in the right frame of mind for Jack Diamond).

    POVs: All together or seperated?

A comment above reminded me of the classic example of POV switching - one I have seen copied in sit-coms, Star Trek: The Next Generation and a few other dramas and cop show: Kurosawa's "Rashomon". Several eye-witnesses to a murder tell very different views of what happened, and the person...

    Superhero stories?

Technically anything with a character who has "better than human" abilities could be considered a "superhero" story - from the legends of Hercules, to Superman in Action Comics. From the Saga of Beowulf to Twilight. From the tales of Gilgamesh to My Vampire System. Even a lot of the pulp...

Writing Does/Has anyone done this?: Character strength relative to the gear they're using

I have in the past but not for anything I've written recently.

    Metals fans of SHF

If you are into guitar work, and have not encountered him yet, I would look into a guy who performs under the name "Buckethead" - other than that, I'm not much of a metal fan myself, but have enjoyed the work of Motorhead and, the metal parodies of Spinal Tap (especially their second album...

How to get traction on here>

That is a very common misconception. Excessive self-promotion may be seen as spamming, or just come off as annoying, but "casual" self-promotion, or the occasional request for feedback (or offers of review exchanges) are if not encouraged, at least welcomed.

    What is the correct pacing?

I found one thing that helps with pacing are role-playing game manuals. The most useful was one called "Now Playing" designed to make game sessions out of any television show, which got into detail about beats and breaks and setting up acts and scenes. Not saying I am an expert, but the...

World Hopping and Quick Transmigration how many chapters should each world be?

Kind of hope so... keep waffling on a few other ones. For example, a kind of pseudo-Isekai/System Western I was thinking of calling after the setting - "The Tumbleweeds Project" - but while struggling with the 8th chapter, the idea "Digital Cowboy" popped up and is probably what I'll stick...

How to Better Market Your Story

Prep Time? Don't tell me you're really Batman... :D Though heh... one of the many unfinished stories I have not posted anywhere ... well... IS a Romance.... not one I have a specific subgenre for (unless "Kind of a Harlequin Romance style thing" counts...)

    POVs: All together or seperated?

I've been trying to do this with one of mine. There is one main character (though he is slated to ... leave the story around chapter 100 or so), but every once in a while I "jump ship" to the supporting characters (even, for one scene, the cat of the initial MC's best friend's love interest)...

    Enneagram 5 Character Overview

Interesting. I'm probably too close to BEING a Type 5 to being able to comfortably WRITE one but cool.

World Hopping and Quick Transmigration how many chapters should each world be?

Have not decided exactly where to post it - maybe here, maybe elsewhere. When/if I do, the working title is "Between Worlds" - not very exciting perhaps but... :D

I've been writing something different than most (I think), will it be as popular as the mainstream giants?

Not quite sure what this is - is it "slice of life in a fantasy world" or is there something else to it? This is enough to want a longer synopsis before deciding to read more, but not enough to make someone (or at least ME) want to read more of the actual text as stated.

World Hopping and Quick Transmigration how many chapters should each world be?

57 chapters and counting... :D (Actually it's about a the second, third, and fourth legs of a four part prophecy, made on a fantasy world that impacts the "real" world, their world and possibly several others, and stretches back to the dawn of time... And about a young man who thought he was...

    Frivolous buys

My wife did when she saw it there for me to take to work. Of course this was about six years (and two jobs) back... so probably closer to $3 at the upper end with the good stuff around 1.25 now.

    Frivolous buys

We have an Asian market near us that has ramen/ramen-style pack options from 25 cents up to $2 a pack. The best stuff seems to be in the 60-90 cent range.

I need an opinion on the chapter one and cover of this novel. Genre: Sci-Fi, Crime, Fantasy, Mystery and Tragedy

I noticed it because it was a constant problem of my own (and may be part of why my handwriting is so gawdawful I HAD to learn to type to write anything). It is something that takes practice to overcome (and I am sure I still fall prey to it). I understand the lack of funds being an issue...

    AI cover for my Novel

Do you have any graphics software? Might be worth doing a Google Image or Pinterest search for cats like the one you have in mind, and then converting to a sketch via a filter so you can make some tweaks to it and make it "your own"

I need tips to write good romance in my novel.

In the Writing Tips board, Story_Marc posted a full video about this, and it triggered a bit of discussion - might be worth checking out. Not sure if this will work to link it in: https://forum.scribblehub.com/threads/romance-plotlines.19787/ A key thing is to decide what will draw the...
