Anyone ever launch the idea of coordination amongst authors here?

use formal logic. cabals and groups are already doing this. RR mods already decided its perfectly legal. if this was the case, *every* writers group, would be nuked. that's clearly not the case.

Anyone ever launch the idea of coordination amongst authors here?

how does my writing style or ability, change. It doesn't. why *not*. what gives *them* the idea this is the right thing to do. no. I don't. we have a writing contest, and the best writers are our team. that? encourages and supports actual *good* writers to get the benefits of this. For once...

Anyone ever launch the idea of coordination amongst authors here?

picture this, if you will. you're back in school. computer club members. yes, the nerd squad. I think we all know, what happens. daily. now, picture this. the computer club? those kids all band together. and chase a bully down stabbing at them with sharpened number two pencils. teachers...

Anyone ever launch the idea of coordination amongst authors here?

this? but... unironically. it is a moral imperative, to resist tyranny. you know what the thing about bullies, really is? they're actually, not that tough. they cry like little b!tches when you give them a taste oif their own medicine. I bet the *same* guilds that pull the BS, are the ones...

Anyone ever launch the idea of coordination amongst authors here?

I'll say this. those writing cvabals? Are just bullies, pure and simple. when you're young in school, and you're getting beat up by a bully. you can take it? or you can fight back. if you're gonna get beat up every day anyways, why not get beat up *after* you sucker punch them and kick them in...

Anyone ever launch the idea of coordination amongst authors here?

Look. Everyone and their grandma knows that there's "cabals" and "writer's guilds" and that they work as a coordinated team, on RR Some teams are anyone can join, others are established proven WN authors, by invite only. things they do, one is what we all do here. Talk, share craft, etc. yet...

    Any Advice?

Back where I come from, the lads call it... "the precepts" as in, you follow the precepts. its their down to a science, for RR launches. step one. only write on genre and tags, that are trending heavy. No exceptions. step two. have a great cover. Have an exceptional blurb (synopsis) step...

What are your favorite, least favorite, and underutilized words?

certain words to me, invoke a sort of Sherlock Holmes aura. "Mayhap", is one of them. Sounds all olde english and stuff. stuffy and pretentious as hell. "Perhaps" is like a lite version of that, to me, aura wise. "Perhaps what's needed. A diversion. Eh, Watson?" "Mayhap, Holmes. Mayhap." "Hmm...

When does a character go from flawed to unlikable?

okay. its a hair better. but not by much. this NPC, its her boyfriend or something. to the *team* view? she'll first run to check on and mollycoddle an NPC who to them is a throwaway character, cannon fodder if need be. while a real team member dies as a result. the image I get in my head? dippy...

When does a character go from flawed to unlikable?

my opinion, is that this is a great vacuum you carved out for character growth. but making them wait a zillion chappies for it, is maybe too long. speaking as someone who was in the military... you fall asleep at your post, or worse yet sneak off for a romantic tryst. and a team mate dies as a...

What's the best and worst feedback you've ever received as an author?

you took that one almost "dry", chief. at least he spit on you first, that's something. but when you get jaded from enough of that... it makes the occasional gushing fan mail that much sweeter.

    How does ranking work?

"Nice meeting you, Jacob Singer. And a guy with a last name, SInger. How appropriate, for a man that can't keep his mouth shut." (Jacob's Ladder)

What are your favorite, least favorite, and underutilized words?

ah. acceptable, under the Portmanteau clause. Crass and clever, yet caustic and callous. All colliding coincidentally causing confusion. yeah. I was once told I use my mouth prettier than a twenty dollar whore. (they were quoting Blazing Saddles)

    How does ranking work?

a post once went out. it detailed the forum members idea on how the rankings actually work. with their mathematical take on the algorithm they thought they perhaps figured out. thing is. they just happened to die, in a freak accident. in fact, anyone who ever read that post... (it was titled...

What's the best and worst feedback you've ever received as an author?

Last place I was at before here. You would post excerpts and ask for feedback. I'm paraphrasing, of course... ---------------- dude. your character died. he wakes up in another world. its boring to read a thousand words describing death and traveling. just say it, and move on. I mean, to me...

What are your favorite, least favorite, and underutilized words?

I like some words and I have to watch using them in everyday life, because of the looks I get. Writing lets me utilize my vocabulary without the pained looks and the pinched faces. Phantasmagoria. Ethereal. Pedantic and pontificating. Benign and benevolent. I love how these words really home in...
