Which do you prefer, first-person POV or third-person POV in fictional narratives?

Fifth person. Really, whichever fits the story best. If you're doing a noir, or "cozy mystery" those often work best in first person. Any can work for horror. For fantasy, you're usually better served by third person, especially if you have a group and not a single protagonist.

Which story of yours is probably the most suitable to have video game adaptation

Depends on the type of video game, I guess. Strange Awakening would probably be best as an actioner with some RPG elements between fights. Between Worlds would be a mixed game with strategy and RPG elements, and shifting between characters for challenges. Digital Cowboy IS a video game (at...

Are child protagonist a valid genre here?

That is VERY hard to do without crossing lines. Similar to animal protagonists with mature mines (ever hear of a movie called Fritz the Cat?)

Wow - think that's about twice my record. Good job.

Which is more unbearable to read, hidden dragon or three minute ultraman?

I can enjoy it when there is some variety to it (a lot of classic TV shows - say, Star Trek, had more than their share of overly exaggerated acting but it wasn't the same schtick every time, as it often is in "Sports-Entertainment" ... or, heck "Reality Television")

What are some of the most absurd plots you've ever encountered in fiction?

Though it is also one of my favorite plots, the plot to The Watchmen is pretty absurd - to prevent WWIII, the Smartest Man on the Planet(TM) creates a fake alien invasion, murdering a bunch of people in the process.

A total loss of interest in my stories

Note that having a stroke is a bit extreme, especially for beginners, and is not recommended... The rest of this is but not that part!

    Looking to Commission!

I personally have had three scammers try this (though they went via PMs not open forum posts) in the past few months, and several other people here have seen it about that often a week.

Story feedback for my novel The other side

An AI reader is not going to be of much help - they'll get words wrong, give wrong inflections - unless you have a VERY top end one.

Story feedback for my novel The other side

One thing that can help with dialogue is to read it out loud and see how it sounds, rather than just imaging it. Even better if you can find someone else to read it out loud so you can take notes, but just doing the reading yourself can help a lot

Are child protagonist a valid genre here?

I used to read a lot of them (some of the earliest books I remember were Edith Nesbitt's stories of a group of kids who find a way to a magical world where the sun sets in all for directions, in a different color in each; read those before Narnia; one of the best stories of that sort I read was...

Will a gay progression fantasy work here? (Also looking for Feedback / R4R / favorite-for-favorite / review swaps, fantasy novels referred.)

This may be the only place welcoming that, from what I've heard. Especially if it's a gay female couple, but if it's a gay male couple, there's a subgroup with a discord server called "Boys Love Palace" that might be worth checking out (In the Author's forum they have a post to an anthology...
