The difference is easy to tell after a page. Human purple prose reads different to AI enhancement. For one they tend to focus on different things, humans are willing to break grammar rules for added flair, and the word choice for human purple prose tends to be less boring.

I was thinking more along the line you thought that this was a romance story, but psych there are wizards and shit. But yes, the whole there was no stakes in the first place twists were quite common too. I mean look at the cheat stories of today, or the reincarnated back in time/into a story I...

It is why I stopped reading Manhwa. Every story felt the same, where a kid is bullied for being poor. Where the good guys are perfect and the bad guys ugly. Where you can tell what is going to happen in the next few scenes before you read it. Just boring, imo. I read a bunch when I was 17 or so...

Why are writers fighting the future AI?

LLM’s are a tool. One that absolutely sucks at creative writing. After reading a page, it doesn’t take a genius to tell what was written by a human, what was written by an AI, and what was enhanced by one. The only times an AI work, enhanced or fully LLM, is better than human work is when...

I think outside of a grammar checker, or having a friend look at it, the best free recourse for editing is a screen reader. That way you can hear your story and catch awkward phrasing and the like. Of course you can read it aloud yourself, but for longer works, that is more work than necessary imo.

A simple passing sentence becomes an extravagant showcase. Every sentence becomes a slog. In short don’t use LLM’s to enhance your writing. If you must use it let it make its suggestions and then decide for yourself what is best.

Or, ‘With a look of pure glee, Eleanor made quick work of the pan-seared salmon, her fork clicking rhythmically against the china.’ Or, ‘Eleanor gleefully devoured the trout.’ Or, ‘Eleanor purred with delight as she crunched through the silver mackerel.’ Gemini.
