AI Concept Art - Your Thoughts?

Without knowing anything about the characters, if you've got an urban grunge fantasy going, the AI pretty much nailed it, Anything else... not sure.

    Are litrpgs modern pulp fiction?

But this completely ignores the pulp magazines, which generally had one complete story and a handful of serialized stories per issue (but there were exceptions - some, indeed, only ran short stories that were complete in and of themselves; others only ran serials - though some of the serials...

    Are litrpgs modern pulp fiction?

Not strictly true - the "cliffhanger" ending so popular in movie serials came from the pulps, and a lot of pulps had long-term story threads weaving throughout. For example, The Black Bat had the history of his future father-in-law and the secret society he worked for threading through his...

    Are litrpgs modern pulp fiction?

Pulp Fiction's first child still survives (though has moved to be partially digital in recent years) - the humble comic book and it's less-humble cousins the manga, manhwa and manhua. Though the birth of serial fiction can be traced back even farther, to the "penny dreadfuls" (books sold for a...

What's your main writing technique and speciality?(Explained In JJK)

I'm more a cursed controller and have literally had dreams about this - I act as the little "angel" or "devil" on the character's shoulder, suggesting for or against courses of action, then recording their choices and consequences. As for a specialty, it seems to be "pointless banter."

    Random idea 💡(HP/MCU+)

Well then, why not one of Draco's pin-headed yes-men from Chamber of Secrets or so? Note, I'm not saying to throw out your premise (nor am I saying embrace it), just consider why you made the choices you did and run with that.

Do you prefer more detail, or less detail when it comes to the environment in a story.

General details should be "front-loaded" and only details important to the scene mentioned later. One author who did this well at first but lost it over time (likely due to the brain illness that eventually killed him) was Robert Jordan in the Wheel of Time series - you could almost taste and...

Is your short story seen as incomplete? Here's why!

Heh. I believe the all-time champion of "successful writer with excessive plot points" has to be Chris Claremont; the first time he left The Uncanny X-Men, a group of fans went through his run and counted out the number of plot points he put out there that either were completely negated by...

Anyone else struggle to write romance

Not required but helpful. Probably moreso than a successful, happy one, but both can be useful learning experiences.

    Random idea 💡(HP/MCU+)

If you really want a character nobody has done this with, why not pick a more obscure one like Chang Cho (Harry's first love interest), Luna Lovegood, or one of the Goblet of Fire contestants from the other schools - a minor named character who didn't get to do much in the original books?

Anyone else struggle to write romance

A series on Netflix called "XO Kitty" might be a good reference (it's based on a book I've never read called something like "To All the Boys I Loved") - it's about a teenaged matchmaker who finds she has family in Korea and goes there to study for a semester. The characters all feel more...

The careful line to thread between Mary-Sue and Anti-Sue

After seeing her in Stranger Things, Enola Holmes, the Legendary Godzilla movies, and a dragon thing on Netflix, I'm thinking either Millie Bobby Brown should be legally forced to change her name to Mary Sue or we should start calling Mary Sues Millie Bobby Browns...

[Random Inquiry] ~ Site moderation, as a job?

Yeah, I was in a weird situation with one gaming site for a few years - the guys who ran the company asked me to apply to be a mod (they were paid in perks - free/advance stuff, subsidized convention attendance, things like that - not cash), but the actual mods basically said: "no, I don't think...

If series includes [Suicide] tag, what are the specific guidelines? (see updated post below))

I THINK Content Warning is a courtesy thing that you would put on the specific chapter where the event occurs (unless you're doing your own version of 13 Reasons Why, then it would go on the whole story, since a suicide IS the story). But I don't think there's any hard and fast rules about ...

    Random idea 💡(HP/MCU+)

The specific idea? No, not done before, because some of those properties are just too new for anything like this. The general concept of someone finding themself in a fictional world with special abilities? Been around since at least 1943 (Silverlock), with one of the most successful (and...

Is your short story seen as incomplete? Here's why!

I grew up on comic books so kind of tend to think this way - in story arcs and episodes rather than just plain "stories" - though I've only posted two stories in this model (Strange Awakening- though I didn't really know what it was when I started it - and True Blue)

Story followers not picking up all. Any suggestions?

Those mixed things are correct. All of them, good and bad.

What would you say you struggle to write most?

Serious answer: Scripts. Well, two of the four types at least. One type is the straight dramatic script where you front-load descriptions, use minimal details beyond that, and trust the actors and directors to come up with something at least as good as your vision. I am horrible at this...

Adventure/Fantasy-story writers, how do you keep travel sequences interesting?

Unless you want everything to be in the service of a greater plot, look to episodic television shows like Rawhide or Star Trek or Wagon Train - shows that had most of the cast going from point A to point B either between episodes or during the course of an episode. See how it is done there -...
