    Cool weapon/monster idea.

It was tried by the US in WW2 iirc.

Isekai that You Think Would've Been Better Without the Transmigration Part?

One strong point going for isekais is that there can be a clash of cultures and morality, as well as a sentiment of wonder or horror witnessing the new world. Sure, that can be accomplished by a storyline similar to Luke Skywalker's to great success, but sometimes your worldbuilding won't allow...

Op mc reincarnates into the future and is no longer op

You should really read Dune because there's a whole volume where gets reincarnated in the future and realises little by little that he is outdated, both physically and mentally. It's not easy for him to accept that.

Writing Prompt To kill a time looper

First things first: Make sure a repeating deathloop with no end in sight doesn't precipitate the heat death of the universe.

    Stonesong Art Thread

There's something that bothers me about the perfect symmetry of your characters. Else, it's gorgeous as they say! It's inspiring.

    (for readers) good fanfics

Where do you look for your fanfics, good sir? If I had two to recommend, they would be Airship Down and the Mountains of Madness, an Avatar fanfic with heavy Lovecraft elements (the original Lovecraft experience, not what most write about him). And When Life Gives You Lemons, an alternative...

    Insta-love/Fated mates - thoughts??

I think it's interesting. It's fiction, sometimes the author decided the characters will end up together. And the author can do that in varyingly contrived ways. "Random chance, of course, it absolutely isn't just the plot, why would you think that." I like it when a fiction avoids those...

A new season has a new protagonist.

Technically superhero stories do it all the time. The MCU, the Batfamily, The Watchmen... even if maybe that's grasping. Also, some stories cannot focus on a single character, like Avatar: The Last Airbender.

A new season has a new protagonist.

They managed it well in Eden: It's an Endless World, the story is divided in multiple parts and the protagonist changes each time, but since the manga is about an overarching plot it works. And it's not like the old protagonists become irrelevant.

“War is progress, peace is stagnation”

War is progress but "progress" isnt always better, sometimes things can change for the worse. Also, sometimes war erases previously acquired progress, like how Europe managed to bear the Revolution out if France. It didn't stick but you get what I mean. Peace doesn't always lead to stagnation...

    Recommendations Time Travel Stories

Causality paradox only works if the time traveler already traveled to the past before they did it. If the past is just a save file you're rewriting by traveling back to it, then causality hasn't anything to say to you about it.

As a reader do you like to have the choice to impact a story's plot or it does it turn you off?

I'm reading a story on SpaceBattles where the author regularly picks through the forum for good ideas and inspiration. He's the captain if the ship and decides where it goes, but he still makes his story better by implementing good suggestions.

Why are smut writers getting so much hate?

When you write smut, more often than not, low quality is enough. So most writers don't go above low quality. But I strongly disagree with the fact that smut is doomed to be trash writing. Some authors actually put the effort and it's a treat to read.

    Magic and Science Light novels

Interesting point. I feel like I'm not smart enough to know what to say about this, but it is an important point to make. In fictional worlds, there are multiple ways to defy the natural order of things. Science fiction is either radically more advanced than the current era like 2001: A...

    Exploring steampunk

You should check out Steamboy, by Katsuhiro Ōtomo, it should greatly please you! Also, Andrew Seiple wrote the Dire Saga, a series of books about a megalomaniac genius supervillain in a world where Tesla broke the world and superpowers appear left and right. Its not exactly steampunk, and...

I hate the 'sad mass murderer' trope.

You all should really just go read Worm :blob_popcorn: And you should read Ajin, because the main antagonist is just the perfect character for you!

Writing Original World vs Historical World

Or you can blatantly be wrong. Transform historical world into an original world, include whatever you want from real history and do whatever you want with the rest.
