Types and Styles of Isekai 2.0

Oh now that’s interesting. Didn’t even think about that. I’ve only thought about it based specifically on how the two terms are used when it pertains to Isekai. I don’t think you guys are wrong to do what you did shrugs since you’re still correct either way.

That is classified under ‘Reincarnation’ due to losing their old body (whether through death or other means) and gaining a new one (whether starting the story as a baby or not.)

Hmm. Interesting, you’re the third person to disagree with that sub-type. I understand your point but couldn’t do-over also be under the isekai tag? There are quite a bit of isekai in that vein, after all. If we look at it in terms of only the isekai genre, it’ll be a sub to it. If we look at it...

Types and Styles of Isekai 2.0

All the examples I gave fit into one or the other 4 main styles. I didn’t want to bog that section down so I moved examples to the sub-types where they could be specific. Also, feel free to copy the idea. Have at it and I’ll wish you luck.

Types and Styles of Isekai 2.0

Indeed, this is a list that has details only for the sake of detail. It would be ridiculous to actually try to implement it in, let’s say, a writing site. Also, ‘Time-Isekai’ has the prerequisite that all of them have, first it must be an isekai, aka one of the 3 types, then it must work with...

Types and Styles of Isekai 2.0

After much input and improvements from others and myself, I've now made a 2.0. I clarified the main 3 types and changed the old types to the main 4 styles. As-well, I added another paragraph to Dynamic-Isekai explaining how their plot usually flows. Furthermore, some more sub-types, essentially...

    Types of Isekai

For the subtypes, the base thing of entering another world first is an unwritten rule. So, for the 'Time-Isekai', the protagonist has to first have entered into another world, then used an element of time travel. Also, of course, those are the three types of isekai. You're absolutely correct...

    Types of Isekai

Oh oh, I can already see the potential in a harem story like that. That’s pretty creative, and logical. And on your other post, I agree, I also believe isekai has a lot of potential. Clearly, I can’t think of everything, and I’ve been updating my Google document as people give me ideas, but the...

    Types of Isekai

Oh oh, two more types that are worth adding. I agree, both are massively interesting, if done right. I’ll be adding the types to my Google doc. Maybe I might make a Types of Iseikai 2.0 post later on or something.

    Types of Isekai

For the second point, I’ll say that it’s already there under ‘Familiar-Isekai.’ The other two stand solid though, I’ll have to include them in my Google document.

    Types of Isekai

After having read a ton of isekai light novels and web novels in my life, I have now wasted 2+ hours of my time (due to interest) to compile what I think are the 4 main types and the plentiful sub-types. The sub-type category also includes example novels for if you wanna check a specific type...

When I’m not actively working on my next chapter. . .I’m working on the next chapter of another story pft I’m pretty much always writing something. Another story. A short story. Story ideas. An actual book I wanna publish some day. Now, if I’m not writing at all, I’m reading with music in my...
