Got to point out the obvious. Misspelling - can distrupt the flow of the story. And for me Not following a logical sequence. (Aka a character does something that is a complete 180 from his/her's personality)

Not to mention anything around them can literally turn into a side-quest with a bunch of rewards, more than what they're expecting at the beginning.

Ah the old German accent when it comes to english words. I'm self taught but I guess to speak english properly, focus on areas where the german is more prevalent. Ie. pronouncing "w" as "v" or sharpening of consonants. From my time of trying to learn how to do an American and British accent...
