I'm not an expert, but checking windows security is really the best way I know of. Sometimes sketchy stuff likes to hide in appdata folder (hidden by default)- melchi

It sounds like you have a coin-miner virus or malware. I would say check windows security and see if there are any excluded folders for virus scan.- melchi
