    Shoutout Swap

Since we're on the subject, this is what I'm reading lately. I really love it; all the humor of the great Douglas Adams, and the visceral horror and fantasy of Neil Gaiman. It's wonderful! It should be a Top Trending here, I don't know why it's not. All respect to @goldenphonix...

    Underwater world

Oh. Right. Okay. I do love the underwater world, but more for things that I really cannot talk about in public, and in a SFW environment. 😁 My writing reflects that though;I do consider myself an aquaphile.

What would you charge then? Per word? Per page? etc.

    What have you wrote today?

Well, it depends on your ultimate niche, what you love to write and for which audience, and then you join a forum that is focused primarily on that. In my case, all of my story commissions over the past 20 years have come from "furry" sites, such as Furaffinity and SoFurry, and I actually...

    What have you wrote today?

Finally, one paid commission done and two more to go. I'm actually about halfway finished with the 2500 word one, but I'm staring at a 7,500-word commission that's just not gelling with me plot-wise, so I might dismantle and rebuild. I really WANT to get back to my personal work again, but...

    Did you pray today?

"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face.. May the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand." Always a favorite.

Is the power of love the key to popularity?

I could see the great Dorothy Parker writing that one.

Two grant proposals. Hey, I'm counting them as wins. The deadline's Friday. ?

Is the power of love the key to popularity?

I have zero interest in love stories. I'm more willing to look at stories where women can have a lot of fun with no romantic strings to get tangled into. I'm a cynic when it comes to true love anyway. Give me a story like "Lady Chatterly's Lovers" or something any day. ?

Always. The kids just don't want to accept that. ?

The elders need to stick together so the kids don't come and start gnawing on our bones.

What are your favorite, least favorite, and underutilized words?

My least favorite now is "amplitude" because I must have heard it about 100 times today watching the Winter Olympics freestyle skiing finals. I'm serious, if someone had suggested you take a drink every time the sportscaster said "amplitude", they would be wheeling your sodden, stinking corpse...

    Number 1 on Treading

Personally I think one must be born and bread to become a baker. Not me, I dread making bread. I never spread out my ingredients correctly, I don't use enough of my head, no matter what they said, and feel miss-led. After all the proofing, kneading, and baking, I just don;t have enough cred...

Warning to all Authors, do not fall victim to "professional editors."

I had to be REALLY careful with that, yes. Not everyone is going to write like I do, so it's hard sometimes to "pull away" from me, and look at things from their side, their styles. But I never really thought it was wrong, just different. *^^*

Warning to all Authors, do not fall victim to "professional editors."

It really isn't even that. The problem authors have, including me, is we don't like to have our work questioned or criticized. As an editor, that was my job, to hunt for what wasn't working and provide advice and ideas for fixing things. And I felt terrible sometimes if I ran into a book that...
