If you want to make it fair, then only new works. But then again, this needs volunteers who will commit to organisating through the whole competition otherwise this will lead to nothing. You can’t pin this work on staff members.

That aside, I don’t want to damp anyone’s enthusiasm, but has anyone ever held a competition or knows how it works? Depending on the criteria to win, it can be lots of work or getting lots of bitching and cheating.
