I don't know, some of the AI assisted stuff is getting popular and reads well. Makes me feel like I'm handicapping myself. I've seen stuff getting into the high fifties of chapters now. Granted, lots is terrible and lazy, but some really know how to get the most out of AI by combining their own...
@Makimaam They don't need to hit trending, the established stories and authors will tend to have an advantage there and I'm fine with that. AI stories just need to overgrow the market like weeds. Also, it's going to become impossibe to tell the diference between AI and the best humans soon. As...

1. Light modern fantasy that is gender bender.
2. Dark isekai fantasy with violence, experimental structure, an evil Demon Queen and dungeon crawls.

Even if I don't make money, I want my work to get attention. The attention economy is brutal and I don't measure up.

I gave it three years, but it just hasn't worked out.
No decisions yet, just things I need to consider.
Well, I gotta earn a living somehow if I want to feasibly continue writing at even my current pace. I'm sinking too many hours into a dead hobby that is leaving me broke, ridiculed, and isolated when I could pursue more lucrative options.
