Westerners, as an indirect result of a thousand years of Christianity and its fling with liberalism, developed a Messianic culture...deeming their systems as the 'best' and should be shared and adopted by everyone else inferior.

Japan still has its Asian identity, though recently, it's being eroded in favor of globalism. Hence, the slow but steady rise of the Chinese in the soft power scene. I have no issues with it, though. China has protected its culture that spanned two or three millenia.

Well, conflict happens when two ideas clash. And with the political climate nowadays, combined with the messianic attitude of the West, it's only natural for fights to appear. After all, too much of idealism is poison.

Every culture has its bad side. And if you want to reform, it takes time. After all, you have to convince those in power to change their ways, and they won't do it abruptly. A slow, methodical, way of convincing people is needed. But, young peeps nowadays think they can move worlds by shouting, repeatedly chant stupid slogans, and pissing off people, hence the upheavals of today.
