If a system infused the world with mana, I bet by the end of the week there’ll be guild wars with people slinging mythical epic gear around like it’s just another day.

Way too many people read fantasy and litRPG. With anime and gaming in the mix?

At the same time people are going to get bodied by goblins, batshit crazy gnomes and basic mobs.

You wake up to a system message. Usual basic starter stuff, no power fantasies secret classes, craze items or any of that op shi. Equal rights across the board.
1 weapon no class just 5 APs to distribute. Electronics and guns don’t work.

Where you putting your points and what are you going to do next?

I hope to wake up in an eternal sleep system... then I will sleep for a long, long time, until the conflict and war are over and wake up when the world is better.

I would put all 5 points into intelligence. I desperately need it.

This actually would be good advice. Systems sound fun until the killing starts ?

Filter ability list to Domain abilities.

Read through descriptions to ensure I select one that will allow me to retain my current body or recreate it as an avatar, depending on how domain abilities work in this system. It also needs to be able to share domain territory with friendly others, and have a no-aging aspect or available upgrade. Longevity is my goal.

Make sure my wife is in agreement, then we both select that ability set, effectively making ourselves a dual-'core' dungeon. We're both homebodies anyway, so developing domain abilities is perfect for us.

Set about creating a territory high in both mental and physical challenges, and generous with corresponding rewards, but with potentially lethal responses to using violence to overcome a non-combat challenge. Violence against people and creatures creates a stronger backlash than violence against objects, but breaking puzzles that you can't figure out is still a bad idea.

Corresponding animals in our area to develop our base creatures from include cats, dogs, red-tail hawks, crows, and owls. That I know of for sure. Coyotes and Foxes are possible, depending on size of starting territory. Either way, aiming for evolving them into sapience. This should also help for having more puzzle designers.

Starter weapon is a sword for me, spear for my wife. Any AP that can't be spent on domain based abilities go into relevant weapons.

I'm making a speed, agility build, I'll become a ninja I'll be hiding in the shadows in Dens full of traps, I'd turn into an assassin class with extremely speed, reflexes, lethality and stealth. I'd like a Katana and Wakizashi for weapons, Katana standard and Wakizashi for close quarters! Shadow and Darkness Magic as well I'd master those.

You’d survive a long time with that build. Traps sound take out a lot of the early stage mobs. Also people underestimate how underdeveloped our reflexes are for fights.

Naaaah skills are way easier to level than attributes! I'm just cheating by misreading the prompt.

Well, I am writing a dungeon core serial with a dual-core and avatars, and said avatars make up 2 of 3 members of a marriage of circumstances/convenience that become more sincere pretty quickly.

Also, my wife (who is my editor too) once commented that "you can tell this was written by a happily married man." Domestic bliss is a thing. ?

But seriously, I like living and am good at just enjoying life indefinitely, so that would be a high priority goal. Without any OP options, 'dungeons' are the only base-power ability set that generally comes with immortality, and the stay-at-home requirement suits us just fine.

If that wasn't an option, the next choice would be to look for cultivation and aim for a path that focuses on longevity and defense.

I don't care about fame or fortune, I want to live a happy life and enjoy my home. In this scenario, that means being able to defend my home. Everything else will be in support of that. This includes the awareness that you need to balance violence.

Offering too much violence invites cycles of relation as well as glory seekers. Offering too little violence means getting trampled on. So, offer peace first, which will also help get you friends and allies, and when someone tries to step on you, demonstrate the nature of the trap.

It's funny how the op specified "no crazy shit" and half the respondents are like, "I'd do crazy shit!"

Anyway, I'd go do what literally everyone else would do, and get a new job. I'm thinking town guard, sounds fun. So, if AP means ability points, I'd pick through the list until I got some good generalist abilities, with perhaps some focus on defensive ones, and if it means attributes, I'd spread them pretty evenly, but maybe I'd put a few extra into survivability. You can always train up your other stats/abilities if they come up short, but if HP comes up short, ya dead.

Well, are we all suddenly weak? Or do we have stats that would make sense for our current actual abilities? If I have to start over, I'm going for agility and damage to start, killing the weakest monsters I can find gaining some levels, going crazy on defensive for a couple levels so I can risk stronger monsters, and then after some more physical upgrades, maybe some intelligence. If we still have stats that make sense for our current real life ability, I'd go three on agility and two on durability, since I'm pretty confident in my intelligence and physical strength.
