"Ufufu. Allow me to impart a saying to you then. Admiration, my dear, is to be earned, not given."

With that, Swir smiled her usual friendly smile, and started walking towards the cafeteria.

"Have you heard of the Seven Wonders of the Academy, Lizzy?"
She gave Swir’s statement a moment to process in her mind, allowing it to sink in as she flushed more. That was a truth, she knew that for sure. Lisette probably was looking more into everyone too intently and maybe was a bit too forward. Smiling, she nodded. “Thank you Swir, your wisdom is appreciated. It’s something I hadn’t really thought about since now.”

She followed after her, keeping up as best as she could. Along their walk, Swir’s question perked her curiosity. “Eh? Seven Wonders? No I haven’t! Would you mind telling me?!” Her excitement relit in her hazel eyes as she awaited with glee.

After finishing the book in half an hour, I returned it to the bookshelf I got it from before looking at Ciel. "I wonder why he's not with any other First Years..."
Picking up a pen and paper provided by the library, I wrote a note and passed it to Ciel before smiling at him:
'Hello.
I think your name was Ciel, right?
Did you manage to finalise your schedule?
'

X
As Ciel read the book he noticed a slip of paper enters his field of view. When he looked at what it was he noticed the Student Council President looking at him. After he read the note, he flipped it over and wrote.

Your correct my name is Ciel. And I did finish my schedule, thank you for asking.

After passing her the note, he also passed her his schedule to show her.

"Nice, that means you're as lost as me."

Glad to find a comrade in circumstances, Eudes smiled a bit and once he heard Alba speaking about food, he nodded and took what he wished--
"There is nothing better than hot chocolate with fresh bread."
Ah, and sugar too. Let's not forget a few lumps of sugar.
Alba took a note to try hot chocolate later as the villagers cannot grow cocoa in the cool region where he came from. He ordered a bread, boiled eggs and fruit salad, then followed Eudes to the empty table.

"But of course. Three of them happen to be in the vicinity of our walk to the cafeteria, so I'll explain them in the order they show up. First, the music room."

Swir tilted her head slightly to nod towards the building to their right, which seemed a little older than many of the other buildings around.

"On the very top floor, all the way to the corner, is a locked storage room. Rumour has it that every Tuesday, between 2 to 4am, there would be the sound of a grand piano playing. Except that the room's too small to be keeping any."

"Phew, anyway, what courses did you pick?"
As we settled to the empty table, Eudes asked this question before burning his lips on the hot chocolate. However... he still drank. It was chocolate, stopping is difficult.

"...I should check my schedule now that I think about it."
While his sister made it for him, he forgot to actually open it and check it. Okay, there is definitively a problem with him!

I smiled at him managing to sort out a schedule. As I read through the classes, I sighed upon seeing that he had indeed ended up choosing to do the Magical Beast ones. Getting a fresh piece of paper, I wrote again:
'It seems you have covered the basics in a lot of areas with this.
How are you finding the Academy, so far?
Any problems? You managed to make any friends in your dorm?
'

I passed the note back.

Lisette looked up at the old building with sparkles in her eyes. A grand piano playing mysteriously every Tuesday. It was enough to make her break curfew and sneak out to find out what it actually was.

“That’s so mysterious! And exciting! Have you been to that room then?” She asked curiously.

"I don't remember exact time but I picked combat, adventuring, algebra, runic language, magic and uh... enchantment. Yeah. I haven't pick specific element yet but I think we can adjust our schedule before Monday." said Alba before he shoved a spoon of salad into his mouth.

After reading her note, Ciel took a moment to think about his reply before turning the note over and writing.

The Academy is great so far, especially this library. So many great books.
Aurora is the only friend I made so far. But I'm sure I will make plenty more. Thank you for asking.

'There that should be a decent response. I'm not really looking to make much friends, but that's not something I should say.' Ciel thought before handing the note back with a kind smile.

"Mhm, but only once during the morning. They've locked the doors and boarded up the windows, and even took down the plate that most classrooms have on their doors, but it's still there, untouched. And I have to say, whoever's playing that piano certainly has good tastes in music."

Now they were passing by a building constructed mostly out of glass. Swir nodded to all the plants inside.

"That's the greenhouse. Students taking the Healing and Potionmaking classes occasionally come here to collect herbs, but you notice that the door's not locked and there's nobody in there. But if a student picks far more herbs than they need, or damage too many plants while in there...well. Try not to go traipsing around in there after dark if you can help it. I've heard that the outcome isn't nearly as fun."

Reading the note, I was somewhat surprised that Ciel hadn't made any acquaintances with his dorm mates. "Is he the reclusive type?" I looked at him again and realised how thin he was. I began to wonder if he had actually eaten anything yet. Getting another piece of paper, I wrote:

'Have you been to the Cafeteria yet?
You get a wide selection of food to choose from, and it's all provided by the Academy.
Then again, perhaps I am being a busybody.
My apologies.
However, if you find yourself with any problems, don't hesitate to ask the Student Council for help.
'

I handed the note to him with a reassuring smile on my face before checking my watch and seeing it was soon time for me to self-study.

Lisette nodded earnestly to her explanation. Now she was definitely going to go later this week. If she got detention for it, then so be it, but she wanted to hear that beautiful melody Swir rumored there would be. She beamed ecstatically thinking about it as they continued their walk on the path beside the Greenhouse.

She listened quietly before widening her eyes in mild horror. What—what would happen exactly — but that doesn’t sound like something I want to experiment with. “I understand! I won’t pull more herbs than what is needed, and I’ll be mindful not to damage the inhabitants inside!“ And I really don’t want to find out what could be there at night. Lisette shivered in mixed horror and fascination.

"Oh? Oh! So it's not Monday today!"
Finally realizing why he got out of bed, Eudes beamed a smile. It means that he can just go out and chill out at home. Wait, is it Saturday or Sunday? Since he said Monday and not tomorrow, it means it's Saturday?

"Anyway... my sis made my schedule, so lemme check..."
Eudes took out his schedule and almost spit out his hot chocolate.
"What the hell did she pull out... Archaic Language, History, Economics... and the worst in all that... Healing."

Putting back the schedule into his satchel, Eudes let out a sigh and munched on a piece of bread. Now, he wished to be fired from the school in a way or another. Wait, no, that would be difficult to bear with his sisters' teasing. But he cannot want to do History, Economics and all of this again! Something simple and straightforward is much more relaxing! Like... everything related to combat!

After reading the note Ciel wrote.

Not yet, I was just about to go there after some quick reading . And you have nothing to apologize for, it looks like you take quite good care of the students here. Which I'm glad to have someone like you here to help.

'Glad she reminded me, I didn't have anything to eat yet.' Ciel thought before handing her the note.

Reading the note, I bore a worried expression before smiling in happiness. Realising he was likely to be leaving the library for some food, I wrote another note:

'I see. If you want, I can guide you to it?
It's not that far from here but this place can make one unfamiliar get lost from time to time.
Also, don't feel obligated to have me guide you, since I know you also have a map.
'

I passed it back as I wondered how Lisette was doing and if she was happily enjoying a big and hearty meal right now, what with her stomach having growled so much just before I left. I then wondered about my siblings, hoping they weren't causing too much trouble...wherever they were.

Finally, Swir pointed to a building a little ways off from the main path. It seemed just as old as the music building they'd passed by earlier.

"That's a place you'll probably visit a lot here --- the school library. Much of the building is completely safe, unless you're allergic to dust of course, but steer clear of that particular section."

Her finger was pointing directly at a clock tower that jutted out behind the library.

"The books are categorised according to floors, with the more advanced materials on the higher floors. The Head Librarian is quite nice and won't mind people staying behind after hours to study, but if you were planning to, say, cram for a test the next day and can see yourself staying past 3 AM, do not stay behind alone. Get someone, preferably a second or third-year, to accompany you."

'Ah. Look at those theory classes. Seems like he's about to enter rebellious phase soon.'

Finishing his salad, Alba goes through all of his limited knowledge about magic and found out that he really doesn't know about magic at all.

"What do you think about changing classes? I still need to pick more into the schedule."

'Hmm I guess I was correct to not worry her. She seems like the type to worry about others too much. Which can become troublesome if I'm the target of her worry.' Ciel thought before handing her the note he wrote in response.

I'm fine, thank your for asking. But I think I will stay here a bit longer to finish my book before I head out. I should be finished in 10 minutes, you should go ahead. I do have the map you have me so you don't have to guide me.

"Definitively, I gotta change a few things or completly remove it if possible."

After finishing breakfast, Eudes stood up and rubbed his temples. Now instead of going home, he has to change his schedule!
He cleared his throat and continued to speak.

"I will accompany you. Before that, do you know where the library is? I tried to go there at some point but, as you already know, I got lost."

The aroma of the bread alone had Lisette salivated in her own mouth, but she kept it within her mouth as they moved along. Swir was being super generous in not only giving her a tour of campus but also giving her distinct and clear instructions on what she could and should not do.

She looked up at the library, remembering that Veronika said she frequents this place often. She mentioned her study periods and home sessions earlier that morning.

“The library sounds like a great opportunity to learn a vast amount of knowledge. And I definitely won’t be alone that late studying. I hope anyways.” Lisette smiled and wondered if there was an easier way to contact people. Like her time on earth, they had phones to text and call — but this area was not like The present day. “But I will ask a second year or third year to accompany me if I do plan to stay that late. I don’t know how classes will go quite yet, I hope it’ll go smoothly.” She looked at the clock tower Swir pointed at. It looked like a decent place to hideout if someone wanted to be alone.
