Unironically a comfort food for me, though I'm not personally a fan of the instant version.

It was just a joke. But the best hitsumabushi I’ve ever tried imo was from Atsuta Hōraiken Jingu in Nagoya (attached above).
As for the fluffy cloud thingy, that’s a secret.

Good job, you lived up to my expectations. Still, a shame. That one piece of bread was slightly too long, or it was asymmetrically placed. Either way, a solid 8/10.
