Hi,
I published my translated novel, "The Secretly Capable Child Is Looking For Her Dad," along with its first chapter, over 72 hours ago. At the time of publishing, I received a notification that the review process might take around 12 hours. It has now been over 3 days without any notification — the novel is still pending, and I haven't received an approval or rejection.

Could you please check if there's an issue? Thank you! - Stars321

Are you translating your OWN story or someone else's? If the former, make sure the site admin (@Tony) is aware of it. If the latter, you're going to wait a long time, as that is not allowed here - the sister site, Novel Updates, is for that.

I'm translating a Korean web novel, and I've already set the series type to 'Translated' and mentioned the original author's name. Is this also prohibited? If so, should I delete the novel instead of waiting for approval? 😅 Thank you.

Any translation of a work that you do not personally own the copyright to is strictly prohibited. Penalties for breaching this rule include account bans.

You are correct - you should either delete it, or use this site to store it and post a link on Novel Updates. Otherwise, you are just wasting your efforts. The only exception is if you can prove you own the copyright or have the express permission of the publisher to post this translation - and then, Tony needs to see this evidence or it won't ever be visible on this site.

Don't people normally have to get full written authorization from the original author to do this? And why doesn't the original author just translate the book and post it here themselves? We don't bite.

In theory, yes. In practice, very few "fan translators" ever bother, especially those doing machine translation (MTL).
The major issue is that Scribble Hub is intended for English original series, and just a few months back we were literally drowning in translations of chinese series.

As for why they don't post it themselves, some do, but most of them don't even consider this site as part of their target market.

Not only do they not care, but they'll also sell them on Patreon

The copyright holder, which may not be the actual author. One of the reasons why fanfiction is such a legal minefield.
That option is gone since the last purge. Too many mtl translators misused it.
Ah, I missed that. Thanks! Makes sense.
