On other notes, I think many members need to be more careful with who they share their novel for feedback.

I've only been here for few weeks (yet i already ruled it) and several times i saw suspicious account engaging in feedback sections, looking for new works with certain word counts/chapters.

1. They mostly new accounts
2. They offering feedback
3. Sometimes they stupid enough to add the amount of chapters they are looking on their thread.
4. Sometimes they stupid enough to ask how many word counts that you already made
5. Their own novel is only few chapters and clearly a translation works.

Basically, if the account looks new, you really have to be more careful.

They seem to be getting bolder - saw a video ad on Facebook for a company that, if you send them a chapter of your book, will illustrate "a few key scenes" and come back with an offer to illustrate the rest of the book. They aren't coming to us to scam us, they're begging us to go to them...

Honestly, I wasn't sure about this one when I got it, I did like, an hour of research and they seemed pretty legit, but I tried contacting this person by replying to them, and by going to their discord, which was pretty active, and got nothing after several months. So I'll assume it was a scam.

Escpecially since it already sounds super fishy. If you get along with someone, but it just so happens that you can't get around to write a lot with them, connecting somewhere else will come more naturally, or am I the odd one out?
I used to be on some website dedicated to a single anime, so I could watch the episodes on it, because that specific anime got axed in my country more than a decade ago, even though it's still up and running in Japan. I only skim through the episodes, filter out the filler, and check what's most important to see how much they have moved toward some sort of goal. Since the story moves slower than Moses through the desert, I would do this, like, every five years. Year One, I actually found someone on the forum there, which I didn't frequent for long, but we kept writing. Obviously, we replied every five years. Last I checked, I saw her last response, which was, again, years old, and she left me an email, because she thought we might never actually catch up like this. NOW we do write on Discord. Still a better love story than Twilight.

Quite possibly the worst place to look for someone to "connect" with is online. I've seen a lot of crime shows and murder porn; I would daresay I'm an extraordinary detective in my own right (Just not licensed or certified). You're much better off just going out into that big beautiful world and presenting your best self. Someone will notice.

But bear in mind, you could still be viciously slaughtered and wind up the headline of a crime show or murder porn episode.

Number two: Forget monogamy. Arrange an agreement between yourselves wherein both of you may stray and have sex with other people. Let's face it; you're going to want to, they're going to want to, so let's just nip things in the bud and all have sex whenever and with whomever.

Number three: Be poor. You very rarely see poor people being slaughtered by their spouses. So just don't worry about making a lot of money. You're better off not fighting over finances, which can lead to death.

Finally, no life insurance for anyone. State explicitly during the wedding vows that neither of you will view each other's deaths as a convenience or financial opportunity. This goes along with rule three, don't be rich.

There...that SHOULD keep you both safe from murder.

4. Have a close friend who is or knows either an honest cop or a great attorney (or both)

I would say #4 is probably most important. Have someone willing to investigate your death on hand 24/7, and who you suspect. Also, keep a document secure inside a secret bank vault only you know about, to be opened upon your suspicious passing. Just having some sort of a fail-safe like that can prevent your murder too. No one's going to kill you if you've already pointed the finger squarely on them ahead of time.

This site is not actually a scam, but it's also not somewhere you want to be uploading your story.

The problem with jade scrolls is that it primarily hosts korean translations, which are some of the most likely to be hit by copyright strikes.

Yeah, I knew the website was real, but as far as the invitation goes, I couldn't get in contact with the person who messaged me, so I don't believe they were actually involved with the site.

Wonder if that's the same one who approached me two months ago. Had a gallery link "she" sent when I asked, that had some decent work (most of which looked like it had been hand drawn but digitally colored), but nothing at all relevant to the specific story I was contacted about.

Does anyone want to play hero, find out the person's PayPal, and then flag it down for spam/scam so the scammer loses access?

Seriously, SH is slowly rotting and dying. Half of all comments are made by scammers.
