I like that you point this out. Forsooth, Ai used to make concept art doth seem to have lower consequence than use for it as main art, or cover art, or "content" in its purist form. All said, I slightly agree with VanVeleca on one particular matter; the implementation of which should have a point. If it's just to show off how the characters might look, based on the frame I'm seeing, I find myself asking (what's the point)? I think it would be better if it was used as a plot-essential kind of device, in the place thereof.
That's an interesting way to look at it. I get what you're saying about giving it a purpose beyond just visuals. But I'd argue that visualization itself is already a valid purpose, especially in storytelling.
When someone shares concept art - AI or not - it’s not always meant to be plot-essential. Sometimes it’s just about helping others
see what the creator sees. Kind of like how maps, character sheets, or even cover art work - they don't drive the plot, but they definitely enhance immersion.
And in a space like this, where most of us are trying to bring imagined worlds to life, I think even a rough visual interpretation has value - even if it's not “essential.”
That said, I do agree that when visuals
do tie into the story more directly, it adds another layer entirely.
Interesting take though. feels like we're still figuring out where all of this fits...
