My web-novel's outreach has suddenly stopped?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anybody else is getting weird statistics or unusual view/outreach in the past 24/48hrs?

I have recently published a new chapter and for some reason I'm not getting any outreach at all that would normally happen after each new chapter being published.

I have also went and checked to make sure that my web-novel is not breaking any rules—there are no new NSFW content (previous ones have passed and gotten through all clear—if anything, I got a huge bump in readership since an NSFW chapter), not even any new violence or gore that my web-novel is known to have, as well as any links in my A/N or descriptions etc.

I'm not sure if I may have missed something but it is making me slightly worry as this is very very strange, and I am worried if it has got anything to do with being shadowbanned or anything like that (even though I don't see any reason as to why I would get shadowbanned in the first place).

Hoping that someone can possibly shed some light on this if anyone else is experiencing something similar or have had this happened to them.

Your novel is still searchable so it's fine. If you are wondering why your reader counts don't increase after posting a new chapter, it's because some of your readers removed your story from their reading list or deleted their account. That's normal.

This is really good to know.

Just so strange that it's taken such a big hit when I have got quite a consistent rhythm of when I publish new chapters.

And of course, like you mentioned, readers will remove from their list or delete their accounts—nothing I can do about that. I guess there's just always that worry that I do something wrong or something happens that affects reader and viewership without my knowledge.

Just glanced at a few chapters to see your view amounts,

You appear to have normal reader fall off as far as I can tell. Your first few chapters have a ton of views, then it diminishes to just the few that will read daily or every couple of days.

Once you have 50+ chapters, I suspect you will see an uptake in readers... maybe not right away, but it will be readers who added your book to their list, or others who come across it and see you have a good chunk for them to read.

Thanks for giving me your insight Juia!

Yeah, I wasn't sure what was going on, it was very weird that that chapter had such strange outreach when I published it. But glad to hear that it isn't out of the ordinary. And it looks like it has levelled out and returned to normal, so maybe I was just worrying over nothing 😂

I was wondering though; you don't happen to know why this happens at around 50 chapters, do you? I have heard so many other writers mention this when it comes to 50 chapters+ and it always has made me curious as to why (asides from readers binging).

Its not necessarily 50 chapters but many readers are looking for consistant uploads with decent chapter count, both of those show the story is less likely to be dropped.

What Alski said

Depending on the genre, 20, 50, 100, and +150 seem to be the sweet spots, with 50 and 100 being the ones where you get the most significant gains.

I think I went from 3k to 30 k at 50 chapters, then jumped from 35k to 90k at 100, and at +150, I've gained over 145k views.

My added readers also increased dramatically at those levels, but I dont have those numbers as I wasnt tracking that metric before

Adding onto what others have said: I just looked at the activity graph for your story and it looks perfectly normal. (always ignore the last data point: that's the day currently in progress)

You are getting between 200 and 250 views a day, which, while not amazing, is decent given the amount of competition.
