The ToS was clear, they just chose to not enforce it until it was pushed to far.
Just to clarify. I was talking about butchered links in the story summary, not the deleted links. So until now only people who tried to cheat the system have been affected. As far as I know, nobody with censored links who has them in his old chapters has been affected. Until now it works exactly as intended.
They could have enforced the rules for those who are breaking them after the announcement instead of taking down old books with thousands of readers. Well, it doesn't matter to me since I have a much bigger fanbase on Webnovel. And it makes no sense to remove the completed books. By the way, now the Original authors are jumping in joy on this site. For years, they couldn't even produce good books and were creating with AI slops and always crying under the shadows of fanfics, now they are commenting on the fanfics takedowns very much in support of the takedowns like they are some pro. 😂😂😂
Overall readership will decline. Site wide not just for FFs.

Its almost like this site was marketed as a home for original novels

Funny you mentioned ai slops, because I skimmed through some of your latest chapter and well… I guess not only were you a slop writer, but a hypocrite. Who knows.

Whatever you say. 😂😂😂 I can smell the burn.
Womp-womp.
I can smell the burn already. 🤣🤣🤣 Original authors can't even argue or get views. 1 out of 100 gets some attention, the rest> Womp-womp.

I argue with that. I’ve been here almost since the beginning and you used to get lots of views. It got harder to get attention with the volume of works being released increasing, most of it fanfics and translations migrating from other sites in hope to make money.

If you make quality work, people will read. If you can't, you won't get any readers and naturally blame others. Here, in this case, fanfics. Why? Because they get more views and readers. It also shows what majority readers likes and wants to read. As for translation, most TL on this site didn't even have many readers and they were taken down long before the new rule. And among these thousands of originals, how many authors completed their books? 1 or 2 every 500 or thousand. How many fanfics, we fanfic authors completed? Many. Look at my info below, it says all. So, why would people invest their time in originals when they know that the book will be abandoned after a certain time? 🫡🫡 See ya. Logging out. Bye bye SH.

Funny, but data is against your opinion. Going by number of pages in search results, 10% of fanfics on SH are complete, against 12% of original works, while 73% of both are marked as on hiatus. You could argue with the delisted fanfictions, but the numbers on RR are not any better, with only 6% of fanfictions and originals getting completed.

Can we close this thread? I don't think this is helping anyone. I think the initial problem has been addressed.
