Rejected by Royal Road, new low?

Both my series (Mama Fox | Scribble Hub and Money Grubber: I Am Not the Top Hero’s Secret Lovechild! | Scribble Hub) got this same rejection letter.

Well, for Mama Fox, I suspect that the non-con/rape aspect would be the "illegal sexual content".

I have no idea why for Money Grubber. Maybe it got auto-rejected because the other one was?

RR has a maximum smut to not smiut ratio as well, and it's not very high on the smut. May have been your problem.

Do more than 15% of your chapters contain smut?

Rape aspect is not illegal as long as it's not glorified....

Usually, this only happens if your early chapters contain a lot of smut.

That way, your early ratio of smut is well above the threshold.

You might want to censor your chapters and reload them. You can always link to another site. If your story really has less than 15% smut, that shouldn't be a problem.

If it contains more... yes, RR does not want you. :(

Yeah, it surprised me that Money Grubber got rejected as well for the exact same reason. Mama Fox, I understand. I've received enough strong opinions to know its polarising, but Money Grubber is a very standard modern fantasy story so idk. Appealing would be the correct thing to do but my opinion on RR is already in the dumps so maybe sometime in the future. Honestly, I can't even tell if guys over there would even care for GB stories enough that cross posting would be worth it.

3 chapters out of 17 contain smut. 17.7% or 18% rounded up, but, like, there isn't going to smut for the next 4 chapters minimum bringing the percentage down to less than 15% (14.2%), but I guess RR doesn't care for such an explanation lol.
I don't think I can censor the chapters in a way that would leave the story intact unfortunately....
Anyway, the is why I love SH.

The 15% rule is easy to bypass. Don't reduce the smut. Pad the story with something else like numbers and stat sheets. RR readers have numbers fetish so your story will end up getting more popular if you do that.

If you want to smut RR you just have to make your starting chapters cleaner.

You won't get far here as an author if you keep doing everything except writing. Smut is just a genre. Every genres have their audience. Write what you are comfortable with. Most readers only read a story once it's finished or there are enough chapters to binge.

There was a thread about this called is smuthub real or not. Just because the site allow more smut than others don't mean you will instantly be a popular author by adding smut. It's the same in RR but in reverse, removing smut from your story don't guarantee success.
