More of one or less of two?

What has a better chance of succeeding on sites like this and RR? Having one story that updates 3+ times a week, or two stories that only update once or twice a week each?

Well, I haven’t tested the method of having multiple stories get occasional updates, but I do have a story that I update daily. As for the results... here? About 650 views, give or take. RR for the same amount of time? Just hit 4K. Now, if someone has done the opposite, and posts two stories they update less frequently, we can compare, and get an imperfect, but still decent answer. And to clarify, these are my results after just over a month.

I noticed having multiple going, I can cross promote them in the AN and announcements, so I can gain more readers. If someone likes one of my works, they will try the others as well.

It also lets my ADHD switch focus between stories which I find helps me with writers block.

Could you explain how to do that? I'd like to acquire more readers. I use the "Profile page" to do updates, but am I missing something else?

Adam, usually 1-2 times a week, 2.5k words is my minimum per chapter usually. I do have more time than most to write though, so if I get into a groove I'll put out 4 chapters each a week.

Leilani, I just use the Authours Note or Announcement button at the bottom of the chapter I am writing, saying hey if you like this work, you may also like to try my other, and have a link. Some authours I have seen abuse this with every chapter, which is a bit much IMO, but I did it a couple times. Or I will reference my other work in a comment, which leads to engagement of my readers in both my works.

I also use my profile page, but I only have 13 followers, half of which I assume are art bots trying to sell me stuff.

Oh, FFS, I wondered what that "Announcement" option was all about, thanks. *^^* You have 13 followers, and yet you're a "Rising Author". That's unusual! I have 41, and only about halfway to "Rising". *^^*
