In your opinion, what's the scariest horror movie monster that's ever existed?

My vote goes to the Rolling Giant from the YouTube series The Oldest View. Not technically a movie, but close enough. Out of context, it looks kind of silly, but the show manages to make it genuinely terrifying. It's pure nightmare logic. You're not sure why it's scary, but something in your monkey brain starts screaming at you to run the minute you see it. It doesn't talk, roar, or make any kind of noise other than its wheels rolling on the floor. It doesn't want to eat you or tear you apart. It doesn't jumpscare you. It just comes out from around the corner and starts rolling toward you. What happens if it catches you? You don't know, but you'll give anything to avoid finding out. It's the real life version of that "He's just standing there...menacingly!" meme.

I really like how they did the monsters on 'A Quiet Place'. Everything about that movie seemed really fun. Although I didn't like them killing the dad in the story. That made me drop it. But the whole story and how they did all of it was excellent except for that one part that sucked. Especially how they made it seem like the monsters were the ones really in charge was useful.
Maybe it isn't as scary as it used to be, but the Alien, from the movie Alien. I was just a small dino when I saw it for the first time, and it scared the hell out of me.
I love watching those old Alien movies. Classic!

The Troll from Ernest Scared Stupid. It's not supposed to be a scary movie but man, that thing traumatized me. It's always a fun night when that features in my dreams (usually accompanied by zombies or the puppets from the old puppet master movies).

Jeepers creepers I remember watching that movie on payper view with my dad... I slept with my parents for about 8 months afterwards...
My mom was not happy with him for a while after that

I remember watching it when I was a small dino! It lasted just a few minutes, but that scene was scary as hell! :blob_cringe:
Right! The whole thing traumatized me in a way that I cannot express.

Is that the Halloween one where the black kids are stuck in a time portal till their witch friend helps earnest kill the troll? That movie was weird. The Earnest movies were peak though.

It's hard for me to remember scary movie monsters. None of them really live rent free in my head. Not that I wasn't scared at the time, but I just don't remember that feeling.

I don't find them scary because they're literal jobbers that would get wiped out just from the noise of a karen screaming at a minimum wage mcdonalds employee. It would've been more scary if it was just a few monsters that landed in some rural backwater slowly hunting down townfolk but the hack writers had to make these lesser creatures that would get one shot by a dog whistle somehow fucking cause the apocalypse. A FUCKING DOGWHISTLE! I repeat. A MOTHERFUCKING DOGWHISTLE CAN TAKE THEM DOWN! Do you know how much sound based weaponry all world militaries have let alone civilian stuff? Do these hack writers think that they are invulnerable to bullets just because they have really tough armor plating? Fuck these retarded monsters. It is Man that is made in God's images and we are born to inherit the stars.

Not quite a time portal. They were turned into little wooden sculptures and never aged. I vaguely remember one of them commenting on the witch being so old because I think she was a sister to one of them.

Ernest movies were awesome, I miss Jim Varney's acting.
