Buy Palworld, the new Digimon game, and download that hoyo monster taming game when it comes out, don't let Nintendont kill the monster taming genre just because Pokemon is getting more terrible each generation.

Palworld is fun. Digimon is fun. Pokemon died with the 3DS.

Digimon Time Stranger is also a legit great game. Heck, it looks and runs great on my potato PC... Normally nothing runs well on that relic!

To me, Pokemon died after Emerald. Everything else after is lesser. I briefly had a moment years back where I thought I might try to get into Pokemon again, and then they introduced those stupid transformations and that was it for me.

It died when Emerald concluded.

There is absolutely zero motivation for Nintendo to do any different. Consumers will consume no matter how much they are underfed. Lawmakers are slaves to the dollar, and corporations hold all the money. Few will vote with their wallets, and slowly the media landscape atrophies into the same bland game, over and over.

The people who play sports games like the NBA and FIFA, I used to think, are idiots for buying the same game over and over, but now I see everyone rushing to buy an overpriced, underpowered console with no innovative games, and I realise that everyone is a fool, including me.

I didn't buy it cause I'm poor and I dont have nostalgia for Nintendo games. But if the next big Monster Hunter game is a Switch exclusive, and I love the Monster Hunter franchise with a passion, then instantly, I become a hypocrite.

In truth, I dont even blame Nintendo, I blame the we, the consumers, for allowing it to get to this point. We never held them to any standards, and year after year, we shoveled money into their pockets. Corporations are responsible for one thing: generating profit. We are the ones who have to keep them in check, so it's our fault this happened.

This is our fault.

We need to first to collect all Pokemon fans who buy every new release no matter how bad it is into a very big rehabilitation complex and beat some sense into them, then we can defeat nintendo.

People do vote with their wallet. It just takes years. We've seen success of many indie titles recently, and people are already moving away from corporate. There will still be big whales feeding into it, but that is not really everyone. Just a few dumbasses with a lot of money.

Saddest part, whales are usually not ones with lot of money but average people or even kids. Devs prey on their addictions. :blob_pat_sad:

True my uncle was a whale in CoC, spending thousands on the game all the time. And he lived in a tiny trailer house until his death.
Man, this is depressing to hear. And those streamers and youtubers instead of higlighting this fact make videos and play those games. They make those videos how they spend thousands of dollars. Average people when they see it think that whales are that kind of people. Meanwhile those companies use them to basically hide their real clientele.

That's fair. Silksong is a great example of a successful indie game. Sometimes I just get a bit pessimistic.

The corporations are losing money, and they are scared of indie developers. The proof is in this thread, and the fact that every time an indie company makes a huge game, the first ones to publish negative articles about it are corpo news organizations. They are scared of indie devs making good games, so they wish to stop them. But it doesn't really work much of the time because most people know that these 'journalists' are fake.

Also, patent cucking is not a good long term strategy. Even if nintendo stopped all games from being made, except for theirs, people can just stop playing games or play old games.

We don't actually have to 'boycott' Nintendo.
I've been looking up people who are talking about the DLC for Donkey Kong Bananza the emerald or whatever. Lots of people are skipping it because it's basically garbage.

Every time a company does something people don't like, it loses more customers. Over time, if Nintendo continues to be sloppy, it will eventually go back to the Wii U days where they have to dip into their savings.

Anyone remember Black Ops 4 when Activision was trying to gaslight people into thinking not having a single player campaign was a good thing and then subsequently tried to pay off articles to say it was the biggest digital release ever? Then later we found out it didn't make the money they wanted?

All I'm saying is.
THESE ARE VIDEO GAMES. We don't need them to live.

Yes, I completely agree. The only good long term strategy is making a good product because even if it takes 10 years, eventually a bad product will lose in an open market. That's why they try to close the market with patents, but it won't work because there are also other big corpos who lose out if nintendo can do it freely.

Overall though.
I still stick by the idea that video game patents are hilarious and I want to see all the big corpos fight each other.

Also, I find that companies that go into politics often are struggling to make profit growth goals and think that somehow by siding with one or another they'll get more customers.

I'll stand by the fact that I only care about whether they make a product at a good/fair price that is good for me. If the product is not good, I could care less about their politics, how they treat others etc.

The corporations should completely close the market with patents, and then we can watch them die together.

I think patents in medicine are far worse than patents in video games.
I don't care about patents in entertainment because I can find other things to do and entertain myself with.
I get the fear around it, but do you ever wonder if we are being manipulated by other forces in the video game market to support them?

In all honesty, the only relationship we should have with a video game company is:

"Do you like the game? If you do, did you buy it?"

We know now that many game companies try to rely on reputation and hype to sell stuff instead of just making a good game.

I haven't cared about Nintendo since I was 14.
Not because I started disliking them back then, but I just lost interest in everything they were making. Including Pokemon.

Over the years, I've found myself disappointed in popular gaming. I suppose my tastes are nowhere near the same as the mainstream. Which is fine, I just stop listening to popular opinions on games since I hardly agree with them. People hype things up thinking it's revolutionary or something... those days are long gone. It only looks good cause everything else is trash.
