What's the darkest thing you've ever had to Google for a book?

Have you ever had to look something up for one of your books that just made you think, Well...I'm definitely on a list somewhere now.?

For me, it was "How to buy someone from human trafficking?" And the worst part is, I never finished that book, so I didn't even have it to point to as an excuse if the FBI decided to pay me a visit.

How to torture a person without killing them or letting them kill themselves has to be the top of my list. Found out you can keep someone alive and in constant pain for over a year. It gives me nightmares.

I forgot the comic name but holy, hacking off the four limbs and slowly cutting bits and pieces of the person for years...

The closest I got was "how to make a pipebomb using household appliance?"

Yeah, the FBI shows had somewhat already stated that ammonia in fertilizers work but I am not certain on the detonator.

Choose:

"How does asshole taste?"

"How thick is dog semen?"

"How does dog semen taste?"

"How much do dog cum in one go?"

"How to get rid of a dead body without leaving scent?"

Dude, just make it up. The number of people who actually know that information are few and far between. You're a fantasy writer. Act like one.

My short story I wrote was, although set in a fictional world, was largely inspired and based upon ethnic conflict in Eastern Europe. To set a tone I looked at a variety of things, like 1999 bombing of Yugoslavia, Armenian genocide, Prague Ghetto, and more fun stuff.

Eventually the story kinda waned off of that and became more solely focused on aerial combat, but I still looked at a bunch of gruesome stuff to set the mood.

That's an old Chinese torture/execution method. Death by a thousand cuts, though they would just cut chunks off at a time, not whole limbs. To be honest, I've read numerous descriptions of this torture method for writing stuff, and it's never explained how they prevent premature death by blood-loss because regardless of how it's done, a lot of blood WILL be shed.
"Can you beat someone using a child to death or will they fall apart before then"
Reminds me of a scene on Overlord where Demiurge used that Princess as a melee weapon. Literally.

That's one hell of a search history. Pretty sure the FBI would have more than a few conversations about this near the water coolers.

Yup, it is called LinChi and it often takes up to 3325 cuts, start from the nipples, chest, and slowly expands.

The art requires meticulous knife skill as often the chunks are sliced off are thin enough to be translucent, sort of like sashimi.

And yes, the victim is fed for the whole three days

Yep. The first couples of skin layers won't bleed too much.....but after that, everything gets juicy. So how is excessive blood-loss prevented? If you're going to dice them up over so many days, killing them slowly, they had to have a way to staunch blood flow right?

My guess is some form of paste to help the blood from not leaving the body. While the blood clots, the executor goes to other spots first

Also the execution isn't all the way dicing them up while they are alive.

More like flaying/ skinning them whole, then cut their head off once the person mind breaks, then chop up the corpse to pieces.

Not just to let them feel pain, but let them not have a human remain/ dignity left.

I thought mine was bad and then I looked at some of the stuff in this thread and have now changed my mind.

Anyway, mine was "How many stories high does a person have to fall to die if they land feet first"

Not dark in and of itself, but when I was writing in a roleplay forum (RPF) and playing as a chemist/assassin, and I had to look up on hazardous chemical reactions and how to build chemical weapons (including explosives).

Tried to ask ChatGPT for advice at some point and got multiple responses withdrawn for content violation or somesuch.

Haven't had to. Most of the really dark stuff was already researched for me by the authors of various RPG products (mostly horror games and the Dark Champions line).

I'm almost afraid to ask why did you Google all that.
I don't really need to Google torture, murder and drugs. I have some... Experience with all that. My uncle was an interesting person in the 90's.

Almost everyone in Russia who lived through the 90's has a story or two that's connected with criminals somehow.

Ai-chan was researching about stuff to write about for the story In The Service of Evil. In that story, she was made to prove her obedience to the eldritch being she serve by serving his servant being, a creature that looks like a dog to her but is a monstrous four legged giant canine with six tails that each carried different venoms that cause suffering to humans and twelve eyes that see the twelve truths behind the veil of reality.

She also has a number of servants granted to her such as The Knife That Cuts Everything, The Chair That Devours Souls (considered useless by the eldritch being she served), The Lantern That Burns Faith, The Fire That Is Never Snuffed, The Sand That No Foot Shall Tread and The Dress That Devour Corpses. Hunters misunderstood herself as an eldrith being herself because they can't see the eldritch faces of her servants and thought it was her own power that did all the killings.

Considering her final fate, serving a dog isn't all that bad. For her corruption, she shall be hanged under the branches of The Tree That Consume All, forever struggling and screaming for release, but shall never receive it til the end of time. The release here being orgasm. It is a cautionary tale of succumbing to temptations and committing evil despite knowing that it is the wrong thing to do.
