Zeus, king of the Greek gods!

I always figured Zeus should be more "Do you lift Bro" in appearance, not skinny even as a teenager.

Zeus isn't really a fighter, while Odin is, plus Odin is cunning, more than Zeus. Apart from experience and their personalities, Zeus' thunderbolts are finite. His thunderbolts aren't a magic he casts, but something cyclopes make. Meanwhile Gungnir can pierce anything. So I think Odin will win, how exactly; with some cunning plan I guess.

Zeus fought wars and battles against many. He led the rebellion against his father, defeated the Titans, the giants, many monsters and humans. Is strong enough to lift Mount Etna and launch it at Typhoon. He also uses a sickle along side his lightning bolts.
So as him not being a fighter I disagree with. Zeus was the original bad boy jock who fought or fucked everything he could, some times both.

Odin though is the better Strategist and I feel is more likely to win.

Depends on where in Odin's lifecycle the meeting occurs. In his early days, back when he had two eyes, he was brash and impulsive. Sacrificing one eye, and then hanging, spread-eagled and upside down from the World Tree for a time (if the sources I've seen are correct, he originally spent a week that way, but after the advent of Christianity into the lands where he had been worshipped, it was reduced to three days to create more parallels with the "invading faith"), gave him wisdom and a small dose of prophetic ability, making him far more effective at, well, everything. A Zeus who had just taken over Olympus vs. Odin before or during the founding of Valhalla fight would likely be a draw, if it didn't actually go to Zeus, but Odin established as the Allfather, with his city in place and his feasthall populated by his half of the "valorous dead" would almost certainly trounce any version of Zeus.

You have not described a single feat he performed solo apart from lifting mountain, which isn't huge considering he is a god. He fought wars as a leader, he led people. Obviously he pulled his weight in all the fights as well, but he wasn't an exceptional solo fighter or particularly stronger than the rest of the gods. That's what I think, you can agree to disagree.

You have not described a single feat he performed solo apart from lifting mountain, which isn't huge considering he is a god. He fought wars as a leader, he led people. Obviously he pulled his weight in all the fights as well, but he wasn't an exceptional solo fighter or particularly stronger than the rest of the gods. That's what I think, you can agree to disagree.

Iirc greek commanders rode ahead of the troops. Or it was mesapotamians. It was so long ago, all those civilizations end up looking like each other.

I believe the Greek hoplites had the commander in the middle of the second rank (and were usually three or four ranks deep) but I'm not sure. And some of the Greek City-States deviated from traditional structure so it's tough to be certain.
