Once upon a time, there was the Void.
Then, in that Void, a fire was born. The first Star.
The First Star looked around at the Void, and found it boring, so it was that it began breaking off pieces of itself, trying to light the seemingly endless dark. The process was laborious and tiring, to the point where some of the pieces that broke off were larger than the others, containing more of itself than they should have.
These pieces waged light-bleeding war among themselves, trying to grow larger, greater, hoping to even outgrow their creator.
Luckily, they failed, for among these pieces two prevailed that understood reason and moderation.
These two became equals of the First Star.
Then... eons passed, or mere seconds, or maybe not time at all, for Time herself didn't care to overlook a place where only light immortal existed. Still, during that time, all three of the Great Stars grew bored again, but this time they decided against trying to make more of themselves.
So it was that, from the Void, they created the World.
The First Star, the one that had started it all, created the ground of the world.
The Second Star created seas and water, wishing to change the monotony of the bare ground.
The Third Star created trees and plants, wishing to decorate the First's work.
The three watched the end result and were pleased, spending an eternity observing every little detail of the others' work, basking in the simplicity of observation.
But then, after having seen every blade of grass, every drop of water, every mineral that populated the ground, the creases of each mountains and the form of each cloud - that part took surprisingly long, considering the ever changing nature of those fluffy things - they grew bored anew.
So they congregated and, after a while, came to understand what was missing from their world: life.
Life like them, but also not.
Life capable of thinking, just like them.
So they went to work, each one of them creating something different.
The First Star made creatures capable of spitting fire and called them dragons, and then, from there, it created smaller versions to serve them, the drakes. And then, just because it could, it created birds.
The Second created fishes and other creatures of the sea, and then made bigger ones, and then even bigger ones, until finally it made medium ones that could think more than the others, wishing to watch them struggle and thrive against the endless ecosystem it had created.
The Third created beasts and animals on the ground, from lions to gazelles to elephants to unicorns, and then more. To some of these it bestowed greater intellect, reshaping their bodies in ways that would allow them to interact better with the world around them.
And then... it was done.
The Three delighted in the new beings they had made and spent the rest of eternity watching them do as they pleased, interfering rarely and only for small things, while adding every now and again a few new creatures.
And so the world kept on turning.
