This is a story about a guy. A guy who is struck by three separate means of death at the exact. Same. Moment. He gets reborn as a lowly farmer girl. He's happy with this. A nice, quiet life away from everything, only needing to deal with people when he goes to market.

But there is a caveat: the world he's in is plagued by numerous adventurers of all levels. These nuisances are so entitled that they come in and take the things she works so hard for. She works to ferment some cheese, shaping it into the perfect wheel, just to have some low-level nobody come in and steal it. She spends an hour carving a nice wooden spoon and bowl set. And these kleptomaniacs come in and take it. What do they need these spoons for?!

Well, one day, she's had enough. She kills an adventurer who comes in. Deciding that fair is fair, she claims his gear for herself. The next comes in, and she kills this one too. The next one is a pair. She kills one, but the other escapes. From then on, she finds herself at the center of a war. She builds a maze with traps and monsters. She begins to run out of room and begins storing her loot in various rooms in chests.

And at the very center of it all: Her farm. It's still going strong as she tends to it, trusting her monsters and beasts to fend off the adventurers.

Tell me what you think of the cover!

(Yes, I switch pronoun gender intentionally. And yes, this is based on a writing prompt I read on here a while ago. I can't find the post, or I'd post a link. If anyone can provide it, I'll edit this to include it.)

The girl is too small and the posture is kinda uncanny. Also the font is kinda boring.

Yeah, I kinda rushed the font. And the posture was difficult to get right for the pose I wanted. But how is she too small? I'm genuinely confused on that one. I was debating on just doing a standard arms crossed pose and having her be the full length of the cover, but figured that'd be a bit awkward and overdone.

edit: also, I usually use plain, boring font for cover titles on here. The thumbnails are small, so I want to ensure it's easily legible.

I agree that the dynamics of the character vs foreground and the font is less than ideal, but the general concept isn't awful.

Why she so big?

visual metaphor. that's why I added the fog border. It's supposed to represent that it's HER farm, so she'll break the world to defend it (figuratively speaking. She wouldn't actually break the world. That'd destroy her farm too).

It feels like she's not the focus of the cover. You should probably make her take up more space in the cover.
I'm in the process of remaking it now. might take a bit - I was dumb and didn't save the working file, so gotta rebuild from the ground up.

Know what? Why don't I help you with the cover?

Send me your specs. It's for free.

Do check out my art style though. Also, while I work fast, do give me two days to get it done.

I appreciate the offer, but I really don't mind. It helps me to learn. Since I got my drawing tablet, I take any chance I can to break it out. I can't draw, but I use it for photoediting. I started out editing AI images (Lay the Dragon, DragonBound, and A Succubus' Love in my sig), but anymore, I've been using it to edit other images I make (Like Fractured Bonds in my sig). This just happens to be the most in-depth cover project I've done yet.

What if instead of standing she had a position more like this with her arms resting on the mountains

I'll consider it, but my hand is still sore from using the tablet for 8 hours straight two days in a row lol.

I understand. You are really good at art! At first I thought your PFP was a real person but it wasn't till I looked at your book voters that I realized you were just an awesome artist

lol well, the only one I actually made was Fractured bonds. The rest are AI. And I can't really even take credit for Fractured Bonds because I use a rendering program that lets me make the character, then just insert them into a scene and pose them as I want.

Actual art drawn by me would be stickfigure -esque.

Did you use Daz3d for Fractured bonds?

I wish. The assets are SOOOO expensive for a copyright license. No, I used Honey Select 2. The "game" allows you to make characters (a fairly in-depth character creator, actually). then a fan made program called StudioNEO2 allows you to use those character to make scenes and renders.

The guys usually look a little off, but the girls are good. Which isn't surprising since it's a japanese hentai game, technically. This is actually one I did for a fan which has a little better resolution than my book covers.

With The Farmer's Dungeon, I did put in a LOT of work getting the glow/anti-glow on the lettering, matching up the background, character, and foreground (I can draw landscapes fairly well, and that one is about 50/50 between AI and me).

I see Illusion... dark memories of a specific genre of games spew through my addled mind.
