So i know there are a lot of experienced writers on here who've noticed particular time frames where their book has greater visibility.
so pretty pretty please what time(s) in your experience is the best to post a chapter.
When should I post the chapters? What time is the best time?
  • There is no best time per se. My advice is simple: Pick a US-based time, e.g., 5 pm. Use a world clock, check your time zone with your chosen spot, and start scheduling chapters like that.
    • Don't forget: your profile's time zone is the default. If 5 pm. US is 3 am. for you, then you must set the chapter to publish at 3 am!

this question invariably pops up once every month or two. As has been said on others (and as moon quoted corty as saying above) there is no "best time". If there were, then it wouldn't be as we would ALL pile on there, making it the worst time for visibility purposes.

So what's the best time? The same time. If you publish at 5pm/1700 your time, then posting at 5pm/1700 consistently is the best option. It might be considered dirty, but if you have unrelated chapters (like meta chapters, posting an apology for an absence, posting an additional chapter for a poll, etc) then use THAT chapter for a different day/time to be seen by new readers. Otherwise, expect that it's a slow thing to grow and be seen. I've been doing this on this site for coming up on two years and I'm still growing ever so slowly.

I like how Corty gave the example of US time when US has up to six timezones.

The key trick is to release comsistently, ie same time of the day. If not daily release, then same day/s of the week at the same time.

It is the consistency like feeding a pet that gets people hooked.

Like everyone else said, there is no good time. I try to think of when a good time to read is. I post in the morning so when people are putting off their work or duties, they can procrastinate by reading what I put out for that day. Some people say to release everyday, but that's too much work for me, so I do 2 chapters a week so I can keep up with everything else in my life.
