Just start writing some trash on webnovel. And apply for contracts. It's a hit or miss but after seeing all the utter dogshit get paywalled and earn decent bucks, I am tempted. If I work a bit and get some three series contracted, that's a minimum 600 bucks I am looking at.
Also smut is extra popular there... so...

If you want to be forced to write 1500 words per day per novel and lose all rights to your works, sure.
Well, to be fair he said for the money. And he's actually right about that. I speak from experience. :) A male MC, + smut and harem, and you can make a few thousand a month. It worked for me for about 300 chapters, and 1,500 words isn't much. Ok, "a few thousand" might be a little too much, but you get what i mean right?

Exactly, Just upload a couple of series and write smut and 1500 words of trash barely takes half an hour to put on paper. You don't even need to proofread or edit lol, just make the bucks easily

I never said it wouldn't work. I used to upload one of my novels there for a while, and WN kept sending me their contracts for about two months, but I eventually left that website. If you just want the cash, then sure.

Feels like some capitalist' advice, ngl.

Then we'll get some other authors who are complaining about writers only writing smuts to make some quick bucks.

And, I prefer not making any bucks just for the sake of art.

I'll get a decent paycheck just by making random smut, sure, but... After making that, I'll definitely look at myself in the mirror and reflect.

"Was it worth it? Do I still have feelings?"

A bit melancholic and sentimental, but do you prefer seeing a book with a soul or one that is just a lust vessel?

We're indie authors, not corporate. It's your choice, but those stories will be short-lived and you'll lose your sense of writing.

We live with money circling around us, so to survive is to be rich among others. And then, miracles tend to happen like in those rural villages in the forest living in harmony with poverty.

Oh, and one small insignificant fun fact, around 75% of the people in my country (Indonesia) love their life and smile a lot. We have over 283.993 million lives. Roughly 15% of them were living with close to no money and almost all of them are going on with their life in positivity.
How about I get cash by taking your testicles and selling them on Ebay?
That'll hurt, ouch.

Sign a contract with WebNovel. Cough up 1.5k words minimum per chapter every single day, or use AI to generate mindless, repetitive events limited to 1.5k words. Submit to editor. Profit.

It'll be low-quality for sure, but you'll be paid. If that's what you're after then it's all good.

Do be aware though, WebNovel contracts are predatory. They acquire rights to your work with no royalties (bad if you plan to live off of it, or sell it in the future), and they only allow two-three absences per month (absent means you did not submit any chapter for the day). And yes, you can give more than 1.5k words for one chapter, but you'll still be paid for the 1.5k. The rest is thank you, now get back to work.

Sounds like pure unadulterated slavery. Not even a weekday off.

What happens if you outright ghost them, are you terminated from their employment or are they liable to sue you being a foreign company and all that.

I'd go the patron route, but I'm not going to write smut under my own name as i already have a 'normal litrpg career' The whole reason i made this alt account is to write smut under a persona. For money. I suppose their is subscribe star as a another option...

Unfortunately it's the way of an artist, writing smut is basically what becoming a furry artist is for the traditional artist community.

The only time I ever made real money as a writer was when I wrote garbage clickbait articles about top 10 god knows what, and I only stopped because it felt like I was selling my soul as a creator. But OMG the money was so nice :blob_teary:

I also parted ways with Webnovel. I prefer to write my books at my own pace, with time for revision, and then upload them to Kindle or Royal Road. Luckily, I'm no longer financially dependent on it, and I only do it as a hobby.

I'm still making around $2.4k per annum for the first trashy novel I wrote on WebNovel (and I basically gave it back, as I bought custom hardcovers of the series for my highest-paying readers).

If you're a first-time novelist, you should just go on and sign exclusive rights while you are still experimenting with the writing style, building on popular tropes, etc., on your first book.

After that, it's really a waste unless you've decided the money is good (which, for some people, it can be) or you don't plan to improve as a writer and go major league.

What do you want to know xD? Plan a rough story line which depens on woman, and write every 1-3 chapter a smut chapter. The power system does not matter at all, and the worldbuilding can be our real world. The woman can all have the same personality as long as they look different and are jade beauties. And the most important thing on webnovel: Every woman who isnt a Milf needs to be as pure as a jade stone, and must hate every man alive(even her father and brother).

I'm pretty sorely tempted to try this, but seeing how many chapters most of those stories have, even at just 1500 words per chapter that's a major time and effort commitment.
