People probably are too used to the image of sun wukong after he was converted to Buddhism that they forgot Sun Wukong is originally a very ruthless demon. He had no morality, was mischievous and malevolent at time. This version of monkey king depicted his real nature before he was converted to the good side.

Ah but that was after he cleaned up his image (was even portrayed by Jackie Chan once)... And he is a very odd character in the game Raid: Shadow Legends (was a "free if you log in for X number of days in a span of 30 days" character; current "free" one is a weirder version of Loki from the Norse myths)
