Is it just me or the isekai and LitRPG genre is like 95% of the stories here?

I don't like these two genres. One is kinda overused..? and the other one, I can't really understand why should a game system be implemented into writing, its just feels weird.
Usually ignoring these and find other books to your liking is the most common solution. But I came to realize after some time scrolling through the book lists here is that almost all books have those two tags. Its hard to find a book that doesn't include those tags, sometimes the full trending page is just those. Finding something good to read is even harder.
Or its me not using the filter system properly, also that

Isekai is a staple, not just in this website.

And I kind of like and hate how "flexible" the "otherworld" means. As long as it is not our current Earth; it can be medieval, magical, mechapunk, sci-fi or even alternative history, it is under the umbrella.

I mean, who really wants to read a normal, slice-of-life of someone living in Manhattan? Escapism is what readers want.

And that is why SmutHub exist. Because PornHub is taken.

also you can write about inherently inferior - as in violent, stupid, lustful, cowardly, evil - creatures and put it under the "it's a different world, it's not about anybody irl, chill bruh" clause.
Also you can show an inherently inferior - as in violent, stupid, lustful, cowardly, evil - person from our world appear in a different world and be all hot shit when in real world they'd just be shit and no amount of the suspention of disbelief sauce could save this dish if you wrote it as a SoL.
Also you can also unabashedly (is that even a word?) be nationalistic (OMG this AWESOME FOOD called MAYONAISE is the best thing my barbaric taste buds HAVE EVER TASTED! Is this SUSHI? WHAT COUNTRY IS IT FROM? WHAT DIVINE HEAVEN IS IT FROMMMM?)
So yeah, there is a lot to why this genre pisses me off sometimes but I have to admit, it allows for a lot of freedom.
But the few reverse isekais I know, which is basically the devil is a part-timer and that's it, can be pretty good.

I don't like English and I don't like America. One is kinda overused...? and the other one, I can't really understand why should a country be split into 50 different states, its just feels weird.

I really don't actually mean that, please don't kill me. What I meant to say is, it really doesn't matter whether this opinion is true, false, or somewhere in between. What matters is that it's an opinion that others can disagree on, and it's an opinion that...really isn't well-reasoned if you think about it for more than a minute.

I mean, English IS overused, compared to something like...I dunno, Latvian. America does have some quirks and weird tropes. But those aren't really problems, right? Isekai's an enjoyable genre for many people, and there's nothing wrong with trying to please a wide range of audience (read: overused). LitRPG brings a game element into writing, but so many books bring politics, love affairs, military knowledge, all sorts of science, philosophy, sports, and those are fine. So why not games?

Go to Series Finder, change the option behind Genre from Or to And, double-click on the box in front of Isekai and LitRPG each (you'll get X marks on both), scroll down, and click Search. Still finding stuff you don't like? You can limit and exclude more genres and tags, same process.
