Well, my story has 17 chapters, with only 7 with some sort of combat, so yeah. Boring lows and a few highs.
My definition of highs and lows is very loose here.

High as in making my emotion goes "woohoo". With stuff like gaining powerup through training, murdering people or finding treasure, those are highs.

Lows are when you show your characters in their off times or doing mundane works that could be skipped for reasons.

I can have low times for story and relations, but I think that there are moments to better show them than just having a meal talk etc.

Oh, that!

Well, it's the same, the lows I mentioned are the "boring" moments, eating, traveling, shitting beside the road, and having the conversations that you usually wouldn't have otherwise, so yeah. ?

Aside from the lust that is exactly how my MC screws himself over, by being reckless and self-destructive.
yeah and see people like to blame US for that. But i aint taking responsibility for those assholes, you feel me? I tried to teach them right, but no. They always gotta go flying off the handle and doing stupid shit. Smh aint my fault. I just make the characters.

The best way to win is not to become a all-rounder, but become so suicidal in one skill set that you fucking scare anyone who fights you.

You have a sword, I have my fist. You cut off my hand, I have a stump. Eats said fucking hand and charges.

Later heals said fucking hand by eating said fucking hands of the swordwielder

Well, when writing a wish fulfilment, authors tend to make their MC an all rounder, even what you just stated might be considered one if said MC is capable of healing by oneself.

A glass cannon with regen is still better than most common folks.

At least it is better than someone with magic, all fighting techniques known to the universe, and unkllable.

I thought a self heal was common? In most games if you focus on solo-builds you at least have a healing ability or Item. Because being an all rounder in a game usually sucks.

Even in my most roguelikes, I try to get a healing trait or ability or Item. Even if it is a shitty life steal or heal on physical attacks, or heal based of non-movement/stamina drain

It is common because it is a type of plot armor. Especially for solo players.

The question becomes how much is too much. Instaheal in midst of battle is too much. Too little downtime for regen lost limbs is also too much.

Once again, power scaling is crabshoot.

True true. Usually the best way to counter act this is by adding a cost. Not the dumb energy stuff. But instead filling out a requirement for healing. Example A, consuming the corresponding limb to regenerate the lost limb. No mana, No stamina, No bullshit.

I immediately thought about Soulforged Dungeoneer, but once I really stopped to think, I think I'm fine with both. Soulforged is the one book I tend to bring up without the title, and usually shit on it. But I stuck around to the end because of how well the plot was delivered. Beginner chapters are a self-pity spiral that is a massive pain in the ass to read through. Luckily the fights get interesting, building up throughout and usually involve the progression of the plot by the end of them. It's almost a murder mystery but with magic, dungeons, and interdimensional flamboyant fairies leading the reader to the why of the world.

Then there is smut and stuff like Chrysalis.
