This place has a couple of fun, smart, and interesting people while also being full of absolute morons from a couple of interactions I had with others.

Reddit... the "average redditor" stereotype is real. Terribly, horribly real. A few niche subs have some of those fun, smart, and interesting I was talking about with Scribblehub.

Quora is the new Yahoo Answers, so pretty much almost all massive fucking idiots or trolls pretending to be massive fucking idiots.

Novel updates and Webnovel I've never really been on, but I've heard that Webnovel readers are very rude and demanding, but that's just a rumor so I can't base anything off of that.

I haven't spent much time on RR forums, but they seem like a decent enough lot, though I can't judge how fun, smart, or interesting they are.

Whatever forum you need rn. I never use reddit or quora, here I mostly ask for recommendations and read some posts and tro- nothing, RR is also something I never use, NUF is basically SHF with more users and fewer features. When I need techy answers I go to stack, when I need to just have some good banter and a conversation I go to some chatroom instead of a forum.
There's no one size fits all.

I'm very smort :blob_drool:. As a very intellectual vampy I choose SH. Though, the secret forum of vampys would actually be first. I can't tell you about that place due to sworn secrecy.

I use reddit for porn.

Though to be honest, it gets samey real fast.

Quora is good for "things that you don't think you need or want to know, but now you do!"

Royal Road feels like I am reading a bunch of snarks jabbing at works. And that is before I leave the comment section.

Reddit solely because you can find answers to the most convoluted and niche things in less than a minute. Nowadays whenever I have a problem I just type in reddit (problem) and search. Also amazing for community stuff, like games. Really hard to compare anything else with Reddit tbh even with all of its issues.

But here is second place because it feels like tight knit community. Really, really cosy. Anything can be asked and answered here. Very helpful people as well.

Scribblehub forum has a great count of active people: big enough to have a constant stream of new shitposting and low enough to not exceed Dunbar's number.

Too much people feels alienating and too little feels dead

Each forum I've been into has its charm, so I won't choose.

Though, if I may share, my compatriots (in an all-Filipino writers' forum) sometimes find my behavior interacting with them 'odd' or too frank. Prolly because of my time spent here. ?
