So... on my story, there are a couple tags that seem to bring in, by far, the most amount of people (besides the title itself, which isn't a tag).
I really want to know why it is mind control and sexual abuse that brings the most there. :blob_teary:
The tag for transgender is third place, which doesn't bother me at all. I was hoping the community would come here... but why the other two? Those two just seem... hella sus...:blob_hmm_two:
What about for you guys? What tags bring the most attention to your story? Are they painting a rather sus picture of your readers?

Honestly: Transgender.

I very pointedly do NOT have either Gender Bender or Girls Love.

And neither does the best trans book I have ever read on the site despite that it Does qualify for GB.

Yeah... I have always found it weird in Royal Road, where readers will suggest putting Gender Bender because there is not Transgender tag, like in ScribbleHub. Like, no. I don't want those connotations associated with my story. Gender Bender just has some really sexual connotations, or delegitimizes the transgender aspects within stories with its addition.

Female-protagonist, according to my stats. However, I get minuscule clicks from tags. Most come from the main page and reading lists.

Or are you asking what rank we have in specific tags with our stories?

Yeah. That's pretty normal. Normally it's the titles and reading lists that bring the most views consistently, but the tags that bring in the new viewers. I think you answered my question. It makes sense that Female-protagonist brings the most in, relative to the other tags. I find that the stories tend to, on average, be better written when they have female-protagonists.

I can't tell if that is true globally. I was speaking only about my books.
I know! I was saying that it makes sense to me that the tag was bringing more in for your books, because from my experience those with female protags tend to be better written.

I find the opposite is true, actually. I would never read a novel with a female protagonist. Heck, I wouldn't even read a story written by a woman!

Evil protagonist is one I see that gets a lot of clicks.

Sure... sure... that's what they all say... and then they find that their entire reader base is made up of pervs!!! :blob_joy: :blob_okay::blob_uwu:
