Warning: A rant from a fat neckbeard incoming.
So I was watching a 4 hour video of someone trashing Asterisk War, and its hilarious how mad he gets. I haven't watched the show myself so I don't have an opinion on it, but there was something that I noticed while watching the video.
He brought up some reviews of the show, and I paused the video to read some of them. I read this one review, and they said a sentence that had me sitting in silence for several mentions.
They said, and I quote:
"That said, what sets this show apart is that every character has their own back story and their own motivation to complete and win the tournament."
NUMBER 1 MISTER REVIEWER: When in the absolute hell did characters having motivations become something that sets shows apart. This either shows a complete lack in your ability to percieve writing, your inexperience in watching any sort of media, lack of any sort of expectations of quality if that's a positive, or its a, b, and c all at once.
NUMBER 2 MISTER REVIEWER: Why in the absolute fuck is this in your review? Characters having fucking motivations should be expected. It's not like you're reading a story from a teenage aged first time author lacking in experiance. It's a full on production that's adapting a story written by an author with a seemingly decent idea of character writing. Characters having motivations shouldn't even be thought about because it should already be the norm. Same thing with backstory.
NUMBER FUCKING 3 MISTER REVIEWER: Please do not comment anything anywhere else and don't act like you have any sort of idea what makes a quality show. I know I'm responding to you in a forum post after watching a 2 year old video of an anime that hasn't been talked about for years now and pretty much everyone forgot about cause of how trash it was, but I hope my soul reaches out to you so you can know to never post reviews on anything ever again. Seriously. For everyone's mental wellbeing reading your schmuck, you shouldn't post anything ever.
Neckbeard Rant over:
I'm glad I got this off my chest cause if I didn't I probably would have gone mentally insane. Seriously, I don't get it. I'm going to hopefully take my mind off of it before I go into another trance where I'm staring at a random wall wondering what goes through the minds of these people.
I'mma leave this off with a question. Has anyone ever read/watched a review where the reviewer said something so dumb that they just had to shut off their monitor for a couple of minutes?
