Saw this description in a novel, somewhat intrigued:
It's about a person who goes through a car accident, wakes up and experiences all sorts of spooky and terrifying events in the hospital. In the end, he discovered that he had already died, and this was just the world after death, a place called purgatory. Everyone's purgatory is a reflection of his own heart, which is similar to the real world but slightly different, where what happens Everything is a punishment for past crimes.

It... It's a book.... written hundreds of years ago. Basically, it was a theologically incorrect Catholic self insert fanfic about a dude going through hell, purgatory, and heaven with his favorite poet, bashing politicians and old Pope's as they go just to find his dead crush who friendzones him. It's the only fanfic in which the church commissioned art for despite seeing Dante as a heretic.

I watched a movie with a similar description. I don't remember the title, but I watched it on 123movies. I'll try to search and find it. I watched it a long time ago, but I remember liking it. That's why I want to find it now and watch it again. Maybe someone knows a movie with the same plot?
